hey hey i had a 240 from 2001 - 2006
but i kept my **** clean and tasteful, quality parts, the only fake stuff on my car was th bodykit *buddy of mine sold kits so he hooked me up*, otherwise i spent money on hks front mount, blow off, greddy profec b spec II, apexi safc, nismo lsd and braces, tein coils,sr20 blacktop, full 300zx z32 front and rear brake swap etc *dam im soo broke now, i dont know how i could have afforded all that* and I never became a cockyfuck
In 06 b4 i got rid of it *was tired of hiding from cops in socal, or worried about theft etc, i daily drove her*
Ill admit, the new generation of 240sx owners can be cocky, the "drift or die" guys.. Early 20 year olds. Just my observation but the cocky ones always seem to be caucasian.. =( .but theres still alot of good guys around, the guys who will spend money on nice wheels, bodykits, coilovers and expensive parts, the ones who build their cars up, or the guys who keep em off the street to track em..
I got banned from ziptied because I dont drift my car. Actually sometimes I catch beef on zilvia because no one sees me drift. It used to bother me, but i dont care now, theres more out there then drifting. ( I used to be a drift fan, did a few events back during open diff/stock KA in the days when people wherent obsessed about getting their pics taken) but it really ruins it if people are going to be closed minded about what you do with your car.
If you love building cars, no matter what kind of car or what you do with it, as long as you know your **** , then you will get respect from me. lol Thats how it should be...

no!! thats the thing, only stupid people make it a culture.. its not a culture.
We got enough laws against vehicle modifications in socal anyways.. a bunch of street drifters meeting up doesnt really help either . Even if they obey road laws, having a car that looks like its falling apart adds fuel to the flame

true man that forum was good back then i mean drifting was starting to pop out everyone was starting to build "DRIFT" cars not some ragged up 240 with a welded diff and szipties holding the whole front end
Hyperteks old 240sx is a great example of how cars should look, not like that monstrosity of baller sideway lolskates car
oh i have seen some pretty beat up ghetto fc's on here too trying to get into the drift culture, its sad because it used to be a sport and hobby, now for these kids its like EMO if they cant be living in a dream world of large stickers on their windshield with 205/40/16 tires on a 10 inch wide rim they would die!!!
I drift , drag, and autox my car for the pure excitment of doing it ,with a car that will drive there and back yet still look good.

Not taking a stab at anyone here but, you can have the nicest FC in the world and not drift or do anything with it-making it useless. I've met very few people that can actually build a fast car and then track or street race the hell out of it, most can only handle one of the two.
Just a wild guess, but I believe they probably saw your car and its exterior modifications and came to the conclusion that it is probably too pretty to race and has never seen any type of racing event besides a couple of passes at the strip.

^^^ thats because 95% of the time theres no cameras around me when i am driving my car doing what its meant to do...lol
a couple of people here have seen and felt what i can do and what my car can do so it isnt that, its just i take care of my **** 99% of the time and (knock on wood) its reliable
Most of these drifters think if you have a drift car it has to be ragged on, NO! i have seen cars in japan where these cats would drift and race their cars every night and when you saw the car the next day it was clean as a whistle. On top of that if they broke something they would fix it right away.
i can name you 7 cars out of D1 that drift their car and practice on the regular and doesnt look beat up, then i can name you atleast 5 people on this forum that actually drift and they arent pros and their cars still look decent because of money issues.

I didn't want to go into the race thing (even though this is what it really boils down to) but you really cannot compare Japanese people to Americans. Completely different society and way of thinking. No one here goes to a mountain or highway at 4am every other night to practice drifting or do 170mph+. How do the 1/4 mile or 40 to 110mph pull videos here compare to the 180mph+ Wangan videos you see from Japan? The RX7 meet for instance? Or the slow *** mountain "touge" videos **ahem...Limit Break** here vs. the ones with the Japanese titles?
This is just the standard here, you may think their mentality is dumb but its true. 90% of the cars I'd see at meets with built engines and big turbos had never seen anything but camber wear on their $1000 tires..On the other hand the people that were involved in drift events and got sideways in the parking lot drove crappy cars. Both of the groups are equal to me.
I wasn't implying that the 240 is functional as thats a little extreme, just giving you their side of the story. They are aware that it is rare for an owner of an RX7 that looks as clean as yours to actually drift or track it, that judgment is enough for them to reject you. If you really do drive your car then it was a dumb decision on their part.

you guys are taking the negative camber thing out of text...
It actually affects handling in drifting and usually is in favor of it.. Ive had done that with my s13 and it helped my initial entry alot.
this was the day after an event i did and someone taught me to max out the neg camber and it helped alot..
esp with a 150ish hp KA, it helps
*i didnt have friends to take trackside pics, no one really cared back then*
