Gutted interiors pics thread!!
Heres one of my first 2nd gen. It was a daily driver when i lived in Coloroado. Drove from North Carolina to Orland Florida, and back like this... twice!
Sorry for the gay seat... i was still a rookie then.

How much weight can you REALLY shed by ripping out the interior of an FC???
I'm not a big fan of it but it CAN look cool if done right...just curious as to weight numbers...

Interior parts are not so heavy. Tar is just a couple of pounds. But stock seats are heavy. Mine is a vert and came with genuine CD player which I think the heaviest parts mounted on the dash. I still have stock seats but removing interior parts here and there (including vert top motors), I'd say it's roughly 30-40 lbs range on my case. Number will go up if you count spare tire and jack.

sunroof assembly is another 20-25 lbs I'd say. I ripped it all out and welded the insert in. I'd say with new seats, losing the spare tire/jack, tar and all, well over 100 lbs can be saved.

Weights measured in pounds:
Bare dash w/ dash harness and ductwork = 30
Factory radio (CD/tape deck) and logicon = 9
Front carpet w/ floor mats = 21
Factory seats w/o sliders (each) = 29-31 depending on model and trim level
Door panels w/ armrests (each) = 7
Remaining s4 interior = 45 (includes all trim plastics, rear carpeting, center console, seatbelts, sunvisors, headliner, door handles, mirror, hardware, etc.)
what do you mean by insert? i been thinking of just welding in a sun roof panel without the assembly. is that what you mean?
