functionnal fc pics please...convince me to not get a domestic...

ok with being done for the semester in like a week and having 3 years of taxes coming in. left over from student loan, money saved i have the money to buy a fc or a decent daily driver...i want another fc....but kinda leaning towards having something reliable...please convince me to buy an fc by posting pics of function over form fcs....meaning daily driven badass fcs. As it sits right now it's either hunt for an fc or get my buddy's cavalier z24....uhhhh first domestic...so let's see them i know i remember a flat black fc on here with rolled fenders and a crazy setup, carbon fibre center consol and no deck which was a crazy car...so let's see em

i can't give you crazy stuff, but i have my 87 that is just bone stock, but it is a daily driver, and i've little to no problems with it.

i hope that helps, though that might scare some people.
honestly, if you can find a decently reliable fc, i don't see why you couldn't get it. If it's in the right condition it probably will last you just as long as you would be owning a newer vehicle anyway. (going off the thing that people will usually buy a vehicle own it for a few years and get something else. if the fc lasts that long than you saved a lot over those few years on car payments, and other stuff that come with a newer nicer vehicle.)

This car has been daily driven for about 3 years, absolutely no problems whatsoever. I haven’t had to take the car of the road for even one day. I can say in all honesty that this is the most reliable car I have ever come across.

The car is a 1990 (August) j-spec model privately imported to Aust.
To date she has just under 81,000k (50,000miles) which is probably why I have less problems that most of the guys on this forum.

It may sound like BS but the only costs this car owes me are for the fluids to do a full tune up every 6mths or so, a battery and fuel.

bone stock they are very reliable.
(this coming from a once diehard honda guy)
once you mod them the rotary can be tempermental.

if you like domestics and the FC then there is no reason you cant combine the two loves with an LS1FC like mine, pure insanity, you'd love one.

RX-7 or Cavalier Z24

Elvis or PeeWee Herman

Steak or Raman Noodles

Rolex or Swatch

Super Model or Fat Girl

Do we see a pattern here? I think the choice is clear.

Dude a cavalier? Why in the hell do you even have to think about the choice? Fc all the way. Cavaliers are for grandma's and mommies, don't do it. If you absolutely have to, please don't rice it out.

dude my first car was an '01 Cavalier (new, when I was 17). It started having electrical problems around 30k.

If you are going to have a car with electrical problems (like the FC) might as well get one that can be fast...

Don't knock it 'till you try it.

Anyways, Here's my setup:

S5 TII motor and ported turbocharger
Removed all emissions
MicroTech LT8-s Engine Management tuned @ 10-11 psi
ACT Streetlite flywheel
Exedy Stage 1 clutch
CSF dual core radiator
Racing Beat Turboback
Greddy Profec-B Spec II Boost Controller
STANCE GR+ PRO Coilovers
Cquence slotted/dimpled rotors
Hawk HPS pads
Ground Control rear camber link
SSR Reverse Mesh 16x7, 16x8 wrapped in Sumitomo HTR-Z 225/50/16, 245/45/16
Etc. and more coming!

I drive this thing to school everyday, and take it on long trips as well. It's my only car until I get my Jeep running. The other 2 7's are driven by my brothers.

one thing i have learned over the years, some people may dissagree, but never mod your daily driver.

LOL, I bet the stupid cavalier will end up having more problems than an FC. Heres mine, probably ~120k on the chassis and 40k on the engine. I put 30k on it, 7 autocrosses, 4 mile+ long twisties every weekend where it saw nothing but 6-8k RPM, topped it out 3 times, once with only ~3 quarts of oil and its still running strong:

And this is most likely the RX7 you're talking about:

do you like japanese styling? I turn to the car's native homeland for inspiration. The tune of the cars is more performance and appearance.

this car has over $80k invested in it.. pricey yes, but every bit functional

unfortinutly will never be as sexy as a fd..

but til that day i can afford to buy a 15k 15 year old car lol, fc is ok

heres taht flat black car u was talkin about =p

i was wanting to have it painted last month but jus lost my job and these gas prices aint helping lol

this was my first car by the way, 240sx, i eventually built it up to this

my only car i drove it everywhere, did everything sr20, suspension lsd and body.. High dollar parts too all brand name stuff *i dont know the hell i afforded all that stuff, now a days you can build a 240sx with cheaper parts * i eventually got tired because theft has become hot on these cars and i would get police harrasment.

so i traded for a benz

problem was, that benz was a collectors item more then anything,, rare european spec *gray market* 190e 16valve, only a handfull left in the US.
gas millage jus as bad as my fc and i felt bad i was driving it everyday, when something would brake, i would work my hardest to find a replacement part etc.. so modding this car was a no no, but i did do some lil things like adding hid and wrapping the headers etc.

eventually got rid of it and got my fc.. i daily the fc, keep it maintained and it treats me good. Premix etc.
tho i dont leave the car just anywhere, i avoid making unnecessary trips etc.

Its fun and very motivational to have a car you can go take to events/track/meets etc. Gives you something positive to do with your car. Yet sometimes the negatives of theft and law are very realistic consequences to consider. But dont let that get in the way of something you love. The compliments you recieve from building your car are always nice. I cant really take the compliments for my fc since i didnt really build it tho.

I hope that helps give you some insight on what you want to do.

Yo, FCs are SUPER reliable if you take OK care of them! Why would you get anything else?

As long as you take decent care of it the FC should be fine
