Cool Fun at an Abandoned Kart Track

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tnt4...layer_embedded
Found this place out in the boondocks. After doing a little asking around, we learned that it was an old county owned kart track, and that it would be ok for us to drive on it. Wish it wasn't just an oval, but we still had lots of fun. I'm in the white helmet. I let my buddy drive the fc a lil too, since he couldn't bring his s13.

Nice drifting! It looks like a sweet spot to learn on at low speeds.

Nice, I don't mean to try and jack your spot but where at in Kentucky are you?
I'm more curious about if you are near me or not.
I've always wanted to find another fc driver.
That and my friend has two 300zx's... lol.

Thanks, man . Yeah, I was pretty stoked to be able to get a good two or three hours of seat time for free; even though the course wasn't ideal. I attended my first event at Tennessee Drift in Nashville last week, and ended up paying $55 for something like 5 minutes on track with huge amounts of waiting in between runs. I definitely enjoyed the event, but I think I had more fun (driving wise) at the kart track session haha.

I live right by Kentucky dam (western ky), but I spend most of my time in Paducah. There are a couple other fcs I see running around here occasionally.

Love it! Clean drifts too. Always a pleasure seeing N/As getting it big!

Oh that's cool. I guess I was always driving around the wrong part of western Kentucky.
I used to live near Henderson, Kentucky; always went over to Owensboro.

Nope. I'd like to get them though.

Oops, I hadn't really thought about it haha. I know rain water is vaporized instantly on contact with the hot exhaust, so I'd guess the same would be true of water from combustion. I may drill a tiny pinhole on the underside of the piping to be safe.

I think they would make a world of difference for you. I don't think it would whip the *** end around as much when you are trying to straighten the car out after the turn.

Stock DTSS equipped FC's like to try to kill you after a drift. It's their way of saying "I'm not a drift car... Yet." or if you don't have the money/are too lazy for eliminator bushings, think of it as your car telling you "You're not dead... Yet."

Well... No intention of sounding condescending here, but I actually have no problem straightening out when I want to (as you'll notice in the clips when the z and I are on track at the same time). I think you may be misidentifying my attemps at "manjiing" as loss of control when exiting the corner. I was intentionally trying to keep the tail swaying on the straight so as to be able to connect the two corners if that makes sense. I just wasn't having a whole lot of success haha. When my friend (dude without the helmet) was driving the fc, however, he did seem to have a problem with the car sometimes sliding out in the other direction unexpectedly.

Either way, I agree. I need dtss eliminators! I should have done them when I had the diff out of the car to be welded/change front mount.

You're very lucky to find a spot where you can go whenever... even if it is tiny. CO sucks so bad for trying to get sideways. They recently added 24/7 security at my local spot... I think it's cuz of us, lol.

Now we have nothing but the ten days a year at events. And it costs $75 an event... I think I'm ready to get away from this madness! Although we have some nice mtn roads, but it's inevitable to smashing your **** up if you do. At least if you hit more than just one corner.
