you should grab another front bumper from the junk yard and have another try at it . i dont think the air is properly getting channeled to the FMIC from the under side of yours. you should try like this pic if yours is so big . ( my 2 cents.)

I hate to say it, but "if its worth doing, do it right!" I had my FC front cover cut slightly, but no hack job. I honestly had a professional body shop do the cutting so it doing wind up looking like I did it in the back yard.....

i know i know ... give me crap..we all go down the road ... my only flaw is my damn front bumper, the setup was swapped from an FC with an bodykit which explains a few things...why they didnt pull the FMIC back 1 1/2 i have no idea...
i have 2 junkyard front bumpers ... im going to be playing around with it this week-weekend... so hopefully my car isnt so sad soon

I hope the op doesn't go too fast or the air flow is going to pull the upper half of the bumper out and warp it like hell. Seen it happen. Not great looking in the end

93rx74lyfe .. I totally agree with cutted bumpers looking like *** .... But this cut actually looks good and somewhat stock. Reminds me of the shine auto aero bumper, which I currently own uninstalled. The only thing I would change is the slot you made should be squared off and not angled ... Cutting the bumper would be a better alternative then losing the bumper support. Although cutting the bumper support just enough to fit the fmic is even better then both methods, and that's how i'm going to do it.

This looks good BUT I am a total perfectionist and I would have made sure the cuts are perfectly straight and the same degree of angle. By the way go crew chiefs!! Prior F-16 cross trained crew chief, now weapons and PW 220 engine technician.

I did my bumper before I realized the concept of directing airflow through the intercooler. Having that open space between the bumper and intercooler defeats the purpos of cutting it up. Unless the gaps are filled with something like sheet metal or some ducting directing airflow there isn't much of an adanvantage. The incoming air is going to travel whereever there is least resistance which in my case is going to be around the intercooler not through it. Just looking at the hood and stock tmic. Without the rubber seal arount the hood scoop exit sitting between the intercooler and hood, all the air coming in would just dispurse in the bay. Same concept needs to be addressed for a fmic.
