One thing to consider: Flat black paint doesn't last forever.

1. You'll need to re-spray your car every XX amount of months.
2. The flat black in a can is not a "sealed" paint, hence why it fades.

It will look good the day that you spray it, but give the car a wash and you'll have water spots galore. Enjoy.

My S5 is read and I wanted an aluminium hood. The one I found was blue so I flat blacked it with the wallmart cans. I sanded first with 320 grit on a palm sander then used an entire can. Let it dry and then sparayed it again with another whole can. Once it had dried I gave it a really quite wipe down with a wet red scotch brite to make sure everything was even.

It's not perfect but it's not too bad at all, especially for the $3 I spent to do it. I think the biggest mistake people make with rattle cans is only doing 1-2 coats. You should be doing 5-8 thin coats to ensure good coverage and a thick coat which is needed to hide the original color.

Never tried one but if doing a whole car it might be worth testing out.
