Finally scanned, My FC @ the VIR Holiday Laps!
I went to the Holiday Laps @ VIR this year and it was the best $25 donation I've ever made! For a $25 donation you get to go on the track in your car with about 24 other cars, a pace car and a chase car. It's a 20 minute session, with no passing, and comes out to about 6 laps. And, you get a free 8 X 10 of your car on the track!!
It was great to actually go on a track for the first time. The first lap I was a little conservative, just learning where the turns are. After that, I picked up the pace a little and found the limits of my hardcore Gillette Accelerator GT tires, lol!
It's an amazing track, very smooth, lots of variety and elevation changes. Hitting the rumble strips through the S-turns almost makes you feel like a racecar driver, you know? I even hit 112MPH under the bridge, but had to back off as the CRX in front of me couldn't go any faster
I was very proud of my car, no weirdness, no overheating, no brake fade, just a small amount of burning oil from my oil leak.
The picture was taken at the Oak Tree turn.

You know, looking at the picture, I'm really impressed by the lack of body roll from my factory 20 year old suspension. It's really held up well for 140,000 miles, lol!
Maybe one of these days I'll actually buy some springs and put on my KYB AGX shocks/struts, and energy suspension bushings
About the helmets, since they are "PACE" laps with no passing, they figure it's safe enough you won't need them. And it's for charity so they have a little leeway.
