FC safety?

Me and my buddy have had a long debate whether my car is safe or not, I am aware my Fc is old and has no airbags but i still think it has a strong body and would hold up well in an accident.

Does anyone have pictures or stories of car accidents in their FCs? How safe would you rate one?

The way they hold up to a rollover is excellent to say the least. IMO these cars are built very well. Ask me how I know....

rolled 5 times down a hill. Walked away with some scratches and bruises.

I'm willing to bet the rating system has changed since 1986.

Lol... The car is safe, but the driver isn't.
The body is solid as hell, but it is so rigid you get shook around hard; and w/o airbags.
But, I just hit a guard rail at 45, sideways, and barely dented my rear quarter panel.
Cars a rust bucket from sitting in a field with a blown engine.. =/

i only post links from evil aviator....

http://www.crashtest.com/explanations/archive/crash.htm

as you can see the FC is 4/5 stars. this is better than the 190E mercedes, and its equal to the 90's 3 series BMW! both of the euro cars are airbag equipped!

so compared to its contemporaries the FC is actually very very good.

the volvo 2xx* is better, but the volvo was the end result of a 10 year safety research program.

*depending on the year/country you could have a volvo 240, 242, 245, 244, except the number of doors they are all the same
