Duracell keg

Duracell keg
I decided to try something I hadn't seen before. Black and Copper paint. It came out more orange than I'd like and the pics make it look more orange and less metallic than it is in person.
The rear housing isn't painted because it's being replaced. I pushed everything together just to give myself an idea what it would look like once it was assembled.
I was planning to paint the front cover copper also. But after getting the intakes done I decided it was going to be way too much copper.
I'm not sure how much I like it yet. I like the housing and irons, but the intakes may be overkill. I'll probably leave it as is till I put the engine back in. I can always repaint the intakes later if it doesn't grow on me.
There are some spots I missed by overmasking, or misjudging how the parts would fit together. I can touch those up later.

Thanks, the idea started as a joke. That a bare keg painted black and copper would look like a duracell battery. I was actually gonna do boring silver and black but i went to two parts stores today and neither had silver high temp paint. Closest I could find was aluminum. BUT they did have copper high temp.

I appreciate the kind words
Though I may change the intakes to white with a "Rising Sun" Japanese flag painted on it.

But then again I might also repaint the front cover copper after all. Once the engine is in and I paint the water pump and housing black the copper would be alot more hidden.
Hell I've got plenty of time till the engine is rebuilt.

I'm leaning towards having the intakes powdercoated white and putting a rising sun flag pattern on it.
Yes I know it's fanboi, don't care about that. But white engine parts are gonna be PITA and too high maintenance for a 3 season car...so I don't know. I'm really just wasting idle time while I educate myself and decide what to do with my rebuild.

I've got questions about repainting my irons and front cover. After painting my water pump and housing I'm starting to think this is gonna be WAY too much black. I was planning on doing the a/c & p/s bracket black also. But I'm already seeing that doing an aluminum or silver color would be better.
I've got some self-etching primer. Can I simply put that over the clear coat and restart with primer, color and clear? Or do I need to rough up the surface with a scrubbing pad and wire wheel?
