Yeah, I figured since there is a "depressed because I can't drive the rx7" thread going.....
I'd start one about how elated I am when I DO get to drive it...
Only put about 30 miles on it but I hit 145,100 miles... so it was all good.
A jacked up 4x4 truck crossed the yellow line around a 25mph curve that I was taking at 55 (in my own lane)...
Still had the traction to get over.
Oooohhhhh the rush of driving a rx7.
I'm going to try and get a camera/mount here soon and film a run that I mapped out on google maps.

Two Saturdays ago, I finally got my car running after 3 weeks of being down. Right after I got it running I did a test drive around the block where I ran into a guy going to a car show. I went home, locked up my house, washed my car and went to a meet. Where we later went up to the mountains, and had some fun around certain corners on certain roads, lol. It was such a fun night! Only shot from that night.

Lol, nice.
The first day I got mine running I put some gas in it and premixed for the first time.
Fixed a lot of little problems and went up the mountains and drove for a few hours...
Most of my friends' cars aren't running right now... it is sort of funny.
I like that picture, is that a civic on the far left? I assume it is since it has the most stickers

I know what you guys are talking about when you say having no destination.
I used to just go driving and find a road and three or four hours later; find myself in a different state.
But... I never think when I drive......

I won't be driving my car for quite a while. =/
But I pointlessly drive a lot. Now I know basically every local back road and even a lot of non local ones haha.
My favorite drive was taking US25 from Northern KY to Southern TN.

My favorite thing to do. I usually take Hwy 24 and take all the side roads. It goes through the mountains so it leads to some of the best twisty roads imaginable. Even Pikes Peak Highway is off 24.

Pointlessly driving in Kentucky is dangerous sometimes.
I almost ran out of gas somewhere in south-central kentucky.....

It does get sketchy driving these back roads. You never know whats going to run out at you haha. Tons of deer, mules, horses. You never can tell.

I love driving my 7. I have a perfectly good "daily driver" with a/c and good gas mileage but I drive my 7 every day instead and sweat my *** off and spend twice as much on gas.
I do the same thing just go driving with no destination. Just you and the car it's nice. I love the feeling of being behind the wheel for the first time after it's been off the road for awhile too, it's the best.

Went on a 5hour cruise through the mountains of Colorado on Saturday. It was amazing. Left at 8am on St. Paddy's day, so we literally had the roads to ourselves... it was so great! Neither of us brought a camera so here's my crappy cell phone shots.

Yeah, I spent $25 in gas on that trip... not including pre-mix. I figured do it now before it goes up even more. I rarely drive the 7 for that exact reason... that and there's something very nice about driving a non-lowered auto honda that gets good gas mileage. Lol, I never thought I'd say that
Thanks! Although Colorado has put out some pretty awesome FCs, so I have a ways to go before I compete with cars like CJs and Slavas old one... and the infamous black vert... I'll be there one day, haha.

I haven't been driving my FC much because the inspection is expired, and I need to fix a problem with the idle. I had it out the other day for a quick drive around some business areas which were deserted for the weekend, and made a quick vid. http://vimeo.com/20941698
