not my FC but they tired to get me in my FC but i know Ohio law and stumped him every time first he said my exhaust was too loud i said by law if its under 95DB at 35mph its legal, second he asked where my front plate was in my windshield officer, because there is no place to mount it on the front end. he replied drill holes, i gave him a dirty look and said if the city wants to buy me a new bumper and paint it i will gladly mount my front plate, then he went back to his car and called 2 more cars in like i was a criminal and they blocked me in as if i was going to run. it was bull **** got a warning that took him 40 minutes to write, and while this was going on a newer GTO that had a side exhaust passed which was twice as loud and they did nothing.

There are two pre-drilled holes in the rad opening designed to mount the factory front license plate holder. You can get this holder from any Mazda dealer, parts cars, etc. It mounts up with no damage to the bumper.

If you really replied "if the city wants to buy me a new bumper and paint it i will gladly mount my front plate", you were kept so long because of your attitude. The officer clearly made a mistake regarding the exhaust if the noise was under the legal DB limit, but smart-assed replies don't help.

don't you guys know that the only reason why cops can legally search your car is because you give them consent? unless i truly think it will get save me from getting a ticket, i will never let a cop search my car.

Shh, don't tell them that there's a mounting location for the front plate. And technically it won't touch the paint, but all it takes is a slight bend in the bracket, and it will start to rub. The cars look so much nicer w/out the front plate, and around here 1/4 of the cars on the road don't have one anyhow. Corvettes in particular never have front plates, since they come with the insert installed up front.

Is it the car?
Actually it is; I have a tendency of getting my cars "marked" by the local police. I don't actually do anything illegal I just manage to **** cops off somehow. I think it is my sweet jew afro. Stupid heritage.

if they actually ask you if they can, it means that they have no right to search it unless you say yes. if they tell you to get out, they're gonna search your car, they probably have probable cause.

cops can be douchebags like that. my brother and his room-mate got pulled over when coming home for christmas one year. iirc they swerved a tiny bit to avoid a pothole or roadkill or something. the cop asked to search the car and they had nothing to hide and didn't know they could say no, so they agreed. well it ended up the cops made them sit outside in the 20 degree weather, and wouldn't let them get any extra clothes, and had them out there for like 20 minutes and even called in backup. needless to say they didn't find anything. and it's not like they were asking for trouble either. they were driving a 100% stock early 90's camry and are clean cut pasty white guys with blonde hair. and they definitely weren't speeding cause the car can't go that fast

I love how many times someones said that a certain car isn't fast enough to speed, The day I bought my fc, I was driving back to my hometown on the highway (my car wasen't registered, so I was taking it easy), a fricken beige Prius passed me doing 140 km, so if that thing can spped, I'm sure anything else here mentioned can speed. But yeah, I was pretty sad... Till an hour later when I passed him back, on the side of the road being ticketed by a cop! Ha!

No cops really give me crap. I have no emissions, stripped interior and I had a pretty loud exhaust before. I got pulled over in the summer for a "stop sign" violation where the cop gave me some crap about my rear license plate frame blocking the view of my plate but he didn't even say anything about my front plate behind my windshield nor my obviously illegal exhaust system. Sent in a trial by declaration and won the stop sign case and had the plate signed off. Cost me my time and gas but definitely not as much trouble as if I were to have been written up for emissions.

Plus I've since put on a quieter (RB) exhaust. I mean driving around with a loud exhaust is just asking for trouble. And if have a nice quiet exhaust saves me the time and money from tickets, I'll take it instead of a loud fart can.

i doubt most cops even know what an rx7 is, let alone pick on them. any car with a fart can, bright blue HIDs,and tons of stickers will attract police attention. most people say "i get picked on because of my car" forgetting that before getting pulled over they went WOT til 3rd from a red light. im not saying cops dont target certain vehicles, but if your getting pulled over odds are you did something stupid other than the mods to your car

lol yea i know, but in this case it really was true. the speed limit was 70 and at the time the car ran like ****. iirc a while later he did a basic tune up and it ran great after that.

If this is refering to my story; Anything is fast enough to speed, but only a moron would speed in a car that rattles and shakes at 60. A Prius probably has more horsepower than the car I was driving. (89hp). I was trying to play "games" with the guy's daughter... that is why I got pulled.

I agree; I wasn't saying this. Just curious if anyone actually does get picked on for driving a foreign ride; so I can say, "You're just pulling me over because I drive a sweet fc, " next time.

I was actually complemented by a cop. I get out to go to ATM and there was a cop about 3 parking spaces away and he said, "Nice car man, is that the turbo?" me- "yup" him-"Ya I see you cleaning that thing like everyday". I live right next to the police station so they pretty much know me. But I dont think cops pick on the 7's, as long as you mind your P's and Q's while in town and they always see you driving calmly. My dad has a 04 M3 with the Sportmax meshies with a red lip and he gets pulled over at least once a month. ITS THE WHEELS!!!!

My brother liked to run around open down pipe but never seems to get pulled over. Cops around here seem to enjoy picking on my 240 a lot more than his FC.

A couple of my tickets were my fault. Im young, and stupid.
But 2 summers ago, I had my TII at the shop, and we were getting the new turbo on.
Streetported with a 74mm. A ROUGH tune, and a 4" open downpipe. lol
A friend and myself went out to do a little street tuning... Which was a stupid idea.
I got pulled over 4 times in an hour. Didnt get ticked though.
The car was running like ***** cause we were trying to tune it more. So everytime my foot came off the gas, it backfired. The last one was my fault. We spent a while looking for a clean, empty back road. Found one. 2nd gear 3000 revs. Put my foot down and took it to the top of 3rd. Spinning the whole way there. lol. Sure enough I got pulled. He was nice about it. I didnt even say anything to him. He just told me that he knew I was trying to enjoy the car, and he could tell I was trying to do it someplace where nobody would be bothered by it. He said it was his duty to pull me over. Told me to be safe, and let me go.

Other then that... Ive been pulled over in my driveway. Testing the launch control at around 3pm. So it wasnt late at night. But I did it right as the cop was driving past. haha!
He didnt ticket me either. He told me to do it again, cause I think part of him didnt understand how a car could sound like the service pistol on his belt! Only downside, my mother and father were both standing in the yard watching the whole thing.
My driveway is a launch testing spot for a lot of the local big drag cars. So theres big long patches of rubber right next to where I park. Bottles of VHT, etc.
He just looked over at it, and told me "Atleast your doing it here".

Now the bad ones.
Pulled and ticketed for not having my lights on after dark. The lights had issues, and didnt come up right away, so I pulled out of my parking spot, and I cop flew up behing me right as they came on. Which was maybe 50 feet from where I was parked. I was at fault. Should have waited before I pulled out.

Ran a stop sign so I wouldnt get rear ended by a 2500 HD. Got a ticket

A couple other loud exhaust tickets.
One of which was kinda bad. He wanted to get me for tint, but I had been pulled a week before that and got a fix-it. So the tint was legal.
Then for no front plate. I made the excuse that my front bumper had fallen off. I got out of the car and pulled my bumper off. To show him. lol It was zip tied on.
But He still got me for the exhaust!

There have been a few more.
Ive decide that my street driven FC will be a fairly stock REW, not too loud, not too fast.
Then Ill keep the angry car for the track.

I had a strange encounter with the police the other week, It was thursday night (which is pretty much the hoon night where I live) and I wasn't going to take the FC out. But hanging out with my mates and one of them had never been in a rotor so I said stuff it lets go get mine and I'll take u for a quick run.

It was 11pm, I pulled onto one of the main streets and there were no cars around so i pinned it in first, snapped second and it spun up a bit then went to almost limiter and then jumped on the brakes. It's a 60km/h zone and i was doing around 120 before I hit the skids.

Basically as I slow down i see this fluro vest running out onto the road, and the ***** had been hiding behind a tree with a radar gun. So i pull over thinking wholy crap seeya later licence and this is going to be expensive. And he comes up to the window with "you have been clocked doing 80k in a 60 zone, anything to say about this" I just said nope. Made me put it on full lock to the right so he could check the tires, backs are fine and i know the front ones aren't legal on the outer edges I just haven't been driving the car much lately so I haven't changed them, he comes up to me gives me the ticket ($200 and 3 points, you get 12 here on open licence so not that bad) and sends me on my way, watching me as i pull out and he can hear the back wheels locking lol.

Was really strange though because it was a big straight road, and he would have heard and seen everything the car had done.

Was odd, but I am not complaining. Maybe the cop likes fc's or something who knows that was my first ticket in 3 years so cops don't pick on mine

Cops never really messed with me in any of my 7's, but they do have a tendency to mess with anything that's not a muscle car if it's flashy & loud. Normally a person's driving behavior is the problem. They only tickets I have recently got in any of my cars is tint, cops around here do have a thing for that. BTW one of my FC's is very loud, low, bright & very not stock looking. No problems but the tint & once warned for the noise early in the morning yrs ago, but he pulled me for the tint. The front plate issue does suck, they will get you for that.
