Cops around here don't bother me at all in the 7. However, I dd a stock civic with a nasty exhaust leak and they're always looking at/following me when I'm in that.

In eastern kentucky I did use to drive a bit fast on some of touge roads and the cops would be called out on me. I'd drive at 1 or 2 in the morning so everyone was asleep and then the cops would show up and they couldn't prove anything so yeah. Now I don't do that because it needs rebuilt and I live in the midwest where mountains are scarce.

Cops here aren't too bad. If you do something stupid you'll get pulled over. Their mainly after the donks and dope boy rides here now. The only good side to those big goofy *** cars, they catch all the heat.

Got multiple tickets/random searches/warnings with my first seven.
Never got bothered with my current 7 driving the same way.

Difference was the color... first was red, second is satin gold.
I will never get a red car ever again.

Gulf breeze cops...I think they just get bored so they have to screw with somebody. Amazing how different cops are 30 minutes away.

around here the cops will single out any Japanese sports compact and jap sports car. i cant tell you how many tickets ive gotten for bs, its like they dont even know what they are going to give you a ticket for till they start writing it out. i got a ticket in the supra for driving without my lights on at 4:58 in the afternoon. i got one in the supra, cop claimed i did a burn out right in front of 2 patrol cars, like im retarded or something, only thing i could think of is my kaaz lsd may have made some noise maybe he thought i was trying to do something. i was pulled over once in my z-24 for no reason and was made to lie on the ground, patted down buy 2 separate officers, they went through my car twice and the k9 unit called in out. had me out there for 40 min. only thing i could think of is i was at a friends house and they have a cat and smoke and im allergic to both so maybe my eyes were red, but they never asked me about it. any way i have had as many as 12 tickets on my record at one time.
but some cops are cool. i was pulled over once for doing 120 in a 45 and he let me go. the motorcycle cops seem cool most of the time.
now i have a friend thats a cop so im good

i guess im lucky. this is my second fc. my first was a red vert. and the cops were always folloing me around.. i got my first speeding ticket in it. 60 in a 35.. the cop was apperently new in town. from L.A... i got a laugh out of it. when i stopped the cop was like. " I bet you have enough illegal stuff under the hood for me to put u in jail for a couple years.." i looked at my buddy who i was driving into town to get parts for his VW. and we just laughed at him.. and said nothing illegal. just a lawnmower engine. haha. all i had was a super quiet exhaust, crappy drag rims, and a front tower bar. haha. and after the ticket he started bragging about how he has an evo and its probably the fastest legal one in cali.. bastard...

but in my white hardtop fc. s4 na. cops dont even look twice at me and i dont have plates on my car at all. just a temp on the back. i have an exhaust leak and my car is somewhat loud... if anything. i had a cop at a gas station ask me about my car. and tell me i was lucky to have a 22yr old car that runs better than most hondas and to take care of it.

Number one rule of owning a fc is not to turn it off unless you've warmed it up.
My $500 beater RX7 has 100 psi compression w/ 138k miles and I turn it off cold and re start all the time, it doesn't flood. If you have a car you can't shut off until it warms up, that sounds like the kind that will stand out to cops. LOL

But no, I don't have an issue with the police. I drive by the police station on the way to work every day and am often at the intersection surrounded by police cars. I get a few looks now and again (bridgeports will do that) but no one seems to care.
Being the son of a retired Police officer might have something to do with this :p

When I switched away from canister style exhaust (had dual N1's on my old FC, and I had Greddy Power Extreme on my turbo car) the cops stopped bothering me.

bloody cops

Ive been driving my FC on the street since mid august, yep 3 months, averaging once a week, ive been pulled over 11 times, each and every time the cops check the car.

They check the ride height (has to be 100mm off the ground) mine is, 11 times true. Most often they ask if the car is lowered, its not, its the kit, even so they still check how high the headlights are off the ground.

They check the exhaust loudness, (lame test, they tell you to rev it up the 2500), passes every time, mine has no rear mufflers, quiet until about 4 G, starts to sound angry. but oh well.

I had the drive shaft out of my burnout car in the passenger seat, got pulled over, cops asks "that out of this car is it?" No sir its not, would get very far if it was.

They tried to sticker my car for an oil leak, it wasnt, it was a slight spill for an oil change, apart from the fact the oil was a small spot on a plain surface, not near a gasket or anything. Enough said.

Its hard to find a cop that knows much about cars, its rather annoying, theyre time could be spent better like chasing drug dealers, not pickin on a car just driving along. They should only pull you up if your driving like a ********, which most of us car enthusiasts dont.

Moral is, just cooperate with the officer no matter what he says, and keep your car legal and you wont have anything to worry about.

Keep cruizin, dont let em get you down

Numerous times I've had cops tail me for blocks, sometimes all the way across town, riding my bumper the whole way, to pull me over when I get to my destination, ask my where I'm going, where I'm coming from, generic bullshit to try to get me to say something wrong, check my registration and license, and let me go. When I ask why I was pulled over, its usually along the lines of your vehicle looks suspicious, which is bs, its a silver stock bodied s4, not lowered, no fart can, no mass amounts of stickers. Another time I got pulled over when I witnessed a taxi do an illegal u-turn when not permitted right in front of me, so I followed thinking, well if anyone's getting pulled over its him, WRONG. I got tailed for 10 blocks, waiting for the taxi to get out of sight, and then stuck me with the ticket after searching my car, calling over 2 squad cars to secure the crime scene, breathalyzed me, while my whole block watched. They looked me dead in the eye, when I asked why they didn't pull the taxi over as well, and said "What taxi?" It was like his eyes were saying yeah i did, but I'd rather make you pay for owning an import. I live in a town with 50,000 people, cops don't get a lot of excitement, so they like to pick on people for kicks. I've also been assaulted by an officer who illegally searched my buds and I on the way to a friends place to party, who thought we had drugs on us, because we dressed like "gangsters", searched us forcefully, I said, you don't have any evidence we have anything illegal on us, this is abuse of power (being a law student, I know my rights, on what a cop can and can't do), slammed me to the ground, kicked me in the back, threw the cuffs on me, dragged me to the car, and while putting me in the back slammed my head against the top of the door opening, and then started questioning me on why I was being uncooperative, and that maybe I had a weapon, or a history of criminal activity, which in no-way shape or form did I have either, he them let me go saying I was lucky to be getting off so easy. So I wouldn't say its the FC that gets harassed, its just me.

I got pulled over again today; this time the officer told me that I accellerated violantly onto a street and that I could have hit somebody. I didn't see anyone near me and found it funny he mentioned my acceleration since my car has a lot of bad seals. Coolant, oil, apex. My engine is really a work of art. Anyways; it isn't like a n/a has a lot of torque when it is running good anyways. I also was going 25.
The funny thing is I'm nervous; after being ticketed 11 times in the past year and a half over things that I didn't/couldn't do in the cars I was driving. (Going 85 in a 85hp 4banger mustang is impossible.) So he doesn't give me a ticket and says" BOY YOU NEED TO LEARN NOT TO LET YOUR EMOTIONS CONTROL YOUR DRIVING."

I drive off he follows me for five or ten minutes until I go to work.

Anyways... I'm getting rid of the car soon.
