If it isnt held together with JB weld and hot glue then sounds like a deal.

What is the compression on the engine?

Is it the same series as your car?

Maybe, maybe not, my motor was a killer deal as well. Sometimes you just get lucky.

+1 back in my honda days I picked up a b16a with tranny for 400. The motor is now boosted in a different car and the guy has had no problems with it.

hell I mean I got my turbo motor, tranny, ecu, harness, dash harness and afew other randome things for only 1000

Nope. It was a miracle it was good. I didn't know much about buying motors back then. But got an s4 TII with 6k miles on an Atkins streetport with a t043b, greddy type R, act street strip, external waste gate, etc... For 650. Guy didn't know what he had and I didn't know what I was buying. Ran super strong for about 7 months.

Lost the rear rotor the other day though.

^^^^LOL. Your potential low compression engine will still start. Ask him about his more appropriate "**** compression guarantee".

780 is a good deal (assuming rebuild is needed), if you purchase an atkins rebuild kit and rebuild and port it yourself. Thats 2 grand for a ported engine.....thats good deal territory if your housings and rotors arent trashed.

Always check compression first.

No one selling you a used engine is trustworthy except people you personaly know, atkins, japan2la, and corksport(no mo jspecs tho).

Aw don't be so rough on him guys.. I would assume with the modifications that the motor has been thrashed on a little.... I would check for even pulses by removing the sparkplugs and rotating the engine by hand, if you get 3 on each (even and strong) then you are probably ok to drop it in if you are on a budget. You may want to consider cracking it open and replacing the seals though.. Eh wth plop it is see what it does.

even if the motor needs a rebuild he got a great deal when you factor in everything he got with it, and that he got it all at once and did not have to search all over the internet trying to get parts.

that is saying by "full swap" you mean the trans and rear end too right?

You guys are telling me he did not get a good deal for all that???

yah full swap as in engine trans wiring harness rebuilt turbo all sensros accessories wiring harness hks downpipe driveshaft no rear end though plus all the extras i mentioned he said the only reason he was getting rid of it was because rats got into his interior harness and ate it to pieces and instead of just replacing the harness he went ahead and dropped in a 5.0 cobra engine lol

even if that motor needs a rebuild you made out great.
Remember also when you get a rebuild you now have a full swap and a fresh rebuilt motor so your good to go with a fresh motor versus someone else who has unknown mileage on thier set up.

Chances are your motor will be good if the guy is giving you a start up gurantee.
