Thanks philstar. I'll be going the Tanabe GF210 route with the KYB AGX shocks, so with 205/50's up front I think I'll need to get an adjustable camber plate and with 225/45's in the rear I'll get a rear camber adjuster to get it to sit right without rubbing.

.
Just to clear up any misunderstandings about tire sizes, and so others can read and learn.
NOT EXACT but pretty ******' close.
225(width) 45(ratio) 16 rim size(duh?)
so a 205 with 50 will have a 205*50=102.5 side wall height
but. a 245 with 50 would be 245*50=122.5 side wall height
..................................so a 245*45=110.25 side wall
245*40=98
98 would be smaller, so we settle with slightly taller rears.

for kicks and giggles 315*30 110.25 205*55 112.75

Not trying to turn this into a tire thread, but after I posted that I did some more reading and realized the profile difference is tiny like you said. Here's a good page with tire size info...

I ended up getting them through RHDJapan, pricey but it was the easiest way for me to get them and they came in less than a week =)

no problem, not to bring this thread completely off topic but you can follow my blog http://philstarsays.wordpress.com for updates.

and yes I do, although I am part of a separate drift crew, my previous car might look familiar if you follow those guys at all

Finally found a set after a month of searching. They'll need to be sandblasted and painted as they've suffered from many years of Minnesota winters and salt.

It'll be a bit til I can get them redone, but they can sit in my garage for the time being.

The only thing I don't like about the wheels is when they don't have center caps. What can be done with the Ford/Mercury caps to remove their emblem and put something else on?

@ JustJeff, my last set of rims were 5Zigen FN01R-C's and even with those the center caps wouldn't fit up front due to the size of the dust cap. I've talked to a few FC owners who don't run center caps for the same reason. I'm sure you can find someone who could put a rotor or mazda emblem on the end of the ford/mercury center caps with a vinyl sticker. That is, if they fit over the front dust cap. But you can kind of see in my pic above that the caps are 2-3 inches tall and stick out a bit past the face of the rim which I think de-emphasizes how deep dish they are

I might have to buy one or two wheels just to see if can do anything to change the dustcap so that the center caps will fit on. I really don't like having the dust cap exposed, it looks kind of like something is wrong with the wheel.

I once ran into a site that would widen factory wheels. For the life I can't remember what the site was called. I'm sure there is someone out there that can widen these wheels. It's what I would do with them.

@JustJeff: Right after I say I'd doubt the dust caps fit, my friend spots this car at a local meet I was unable to attend last night. Looks like these particular center caps do fit. And of course my car looks almost the same as this guys' NA as mine is a black TII with spoiler, luckily I'm going to be painting my vics a different color. As a disclaimer, I have no idea who owns this car and I'm just posting it for demonstrational purposes. If you're on RX7club, your car looks great
