CorkSport Catback Pics

So I installed the catback I ordered, after much suffering heres the result.

As for sound, it's not too loud when at idle it's OK for where I live, I'm gonna get the silencer and see how it is after that.

Did it make a difference? Well it's a automatic N/A so I can't say much but I do feel a tad better throttle response and the pick up seems much quicker, I only hit 90 but that was rather quick on the street I drive on alot, it hit 90 pretty quickly; I didn't expect that

The pitch in the higher rpm's is also ALOT better, not as weed wacker sounding, putting on the catback was much easier then removing the stock I must also say.

thanks, the guys over at corksport did a nice job, it fit in very well only had to bend it a tad.

I know its a N/A I'm not talking about fire burning the bumper but is it too close? I can bend it alil more I thinks (I also think it'll sag on its own as it settles in) the bumper was warm, luke warm after doing a few 1st to redline and 2nd to redline pulls (its a auto LOL 3rd wont go near the redline not even near 3krpm) so it was fully warmed up, its cold out side so my dads still alittle worried it may warp out the bumper.

We've driven it 3 times since installing it, getting food, 2 days we did some WOT pulls got er up to 90 a few times, the tail pipe was HOT, bumper wasnt hot at all and its about half a inch away (oddly its exactly in the middle of the hole too lol)

We do smell this weird burning like smell after driving, I'm guessing its the new pipes?

Anyways were going on a longer drive today to the next town, I'll see how it looks then.

Next plans are header and mid-pipe ^_^ I got the silencer for the corksport as it is a tad too loud for where I live, I'll post if it made much of a diff for 20bucks.

yea the exhaust pipes will smell for a little while..kinda rich sweet smell because of the new pipes and it will get louder as the muffler will loost some of the packing from being used. now next on the list is a t2 5spd tranny swap..

you will want to do some modifying with the silencer. It is kind of small for the pipe so it will rattle a little bit and make an annoying sound. So bend up the edges of it.

ah yeah its like a burning sugar smell, I don't think I'm going with a t2 swap prolly keep tis one N/A and get a Rx2 and 20b in a year ^_^

I'll be going with a full exhaust system soon, drop in k&n and when I do the tranny swap maybe get the engine ported and have a decent N/A.

In summer yes, I don't have a license yet just permit and the coolent seals are slowly going so I'd prolly go with a rebuild & tranny swap!

No LOL I got the car up to 95ish on a straight city road on the side of the freeway that hardly anyone uses + you can see almost to the end incase someone did come you can slow down, was perfectly safe but a good WOT run.

Ya got a auto, you should know the 3rd gear is really long mine hits 3rd at around 70 or so (depends) 3rd will go till about 122 then its at about 3,600rpm, I'm guessing it wont go faster due to the secondaries not kicking in till 3,800, I kept trying by forcing it to 8000rpm in 2nd, shifting at around 95, the little rotary just couldn't chug no mo.

thanks

As said that it would burn the bumper, no it had about uhh 1inch clearance, maybe a tad less, I didn't have the left doughnut on (Couldn't get the **** on (Nor could my dad whom has I guess a tool to help with doughnuts) so I gave up on a 1hr drive to and then back, we smelled this horrid stuff, turns out the pipe hit the side of the bumper and burned alil hole, you can't see it unless you are looking under the bumper luckly

I really should get that doughnut on

btw the corksport is REALLY loud w/out silencer now, also the silencer I bent the tips all around yet it still rattles abunch, the silencer also doesn't sound too good when you give little throttle and let off it makes poping sounds like farting

Mine does the same thing with the silencer. I ended up getting a presilencer from racing beat which toned it down at low rpms. It is still loud when you get up there but I am used to it. I guess if you got emissions though its tough to swap in one.

I was thinking of putting some sort of film around it, I dunno something really sticky that may melt and cause a sort of seal, of course you could just yank it out again, and its not like it's going to cause a fire.

Once I move, silencer will be tossed out anyways :P, I like the sound of it at idle. Where I live it's 55+ people and to live here without causing issues I needed teh silencer

CS cat back. Everything else is RB.
Had to custom fit the connecting pipe coz rb won't bolt into CS: cat-back > connecting pipe > rb pre silencer > rb downpipe.

With all the RB stuff (esp the presilencer) it doesn't sound "too" CS. I heard CS is loud. Mine isn't coz of the pre silencer

I love this exhaust. Tight fit, flushed, nice angle, nice sound, and perfect siize.
Other exhaust that I've seen are not flushed, huge canister, no angle. not my preference.

Yep the angle is awesome. I don't mind the noise at all.

At idle its like a harley cept when you touch the gas it gets a tad pitched, its very deep though. WOT it's uh, not sure I can't remember, doesn't make my ears bleed though LOL.

It's awesome without the silencer, I'm looking to get a pre silencer & downpipe soon +1, I'm keeping stock pipe sizes from the engine to the catback, 2.5, full 3" would be too much :[

Looks good. I'm all about single exhaust, and you have to watch that bumper. Youve got an n/a so its not quite as bad, but Ive pulled alot of melted pastic off my bumper lately.

3in cs downpipe, 3 in stainless midpipe, 5zigen gn+ Dolphin tail catback. Woo flames!
