It may be hard to find something that will hold up to the brake dust. You may want to look into the cost of chroming them or maybe a chrome like powder coating.

That's what I thought. I used this clear on my engine which is for wheels. I was going to spray that over it. I just don't want to chrome plate the wheels. I found chrome paint but not sure how it will hold up on the temps. Who knows I may get lucky lol

Wheels don't require high temp paint.

Yes... "they" have the paint. It really doesn't look like actual chrome, but it is somewhat-polished-aluminum looking.

what temps are you referring to?

I doubt your wheels would get any more than warm, no matter what you do to them.

...and most "high temp" (read: ceramic) paints require the paint to be cured, whether in an oven, or as designed - on an engine, for an hour at 200F - before they become resistant to chemicals.

Obviously, this will differ depending on which brand you use, but in any case - it should be on the can... which you're more than capable of reading.

Key to getting good chrome effect is the surface has to be REALLY smooth

yes, you can get ceramic coatings in chrome. its high temp and works to not let the heat saturate into and/or through the metal of the parts coated with it. you can also get it in silver, black, and gold as common colour variants. each with there own temperature limit. ie gold is somewhere over 1000C (1200 i think?) ill post back later with pics and actual specs (my dad has been doing ceramics for over 10years as a part of his buissness)
