S4 fuel cut around hard left turns
S4 fuel cut around hard left turns
I've searched all over to find a solution to this problem but nothing has seemed to work.
A little background on the car.
My car is an 87 gxl with an NA 13b. Engine is not original to the car, but is still out of an s4. Fuel filter, pump, and strainer are all brand new (baffles are in-tact in fuel tank. AFM and tps have both been tested. Emissions, air pump, OMP are all removed (alternator has double belt pulley to reduce any slipping). 5th and 6th ports are wired open, exhaust has no cats. I replaced the rubber engine mounts with poly to reduce any engine movement that may have been putting stress on wires. All grounds have been checked and cleaned.
Now for the problem.
The car drives fine 90% of the time on the street. Occasionally has a bit of bucking/hesitation at high rpm, but not severe. The real issue is when on the track. While drifting left hand turns the car cuts and will not recover untill I let off the gas. Pretty sure its fuel cut because there is no excess smoke or afterburn when it picks back up. This only happens during a hard left. I can drift right hand turns all day without issue. I had a couple runs last weekend where the car would not accelerate over 4k rpm, almost like the secondary injectors are not firing.
Not really sure where to go from here. I've replaced a good bit of parts trying to fix this issue with no success. I cannot think of anything that would cause fuel cut with momentum moving in one direction.
Anyone have any guesses or suggestions? I had to retire early in my last two drift events and I'm getting really tired of this.
Thanks,
. Nick
