RHD differences

Was wondering if anyone knows how different a J-spec GTX is from an American turbo 2. Mainly the engine bay, anything in a different spot or different part number that i should knk about? Can I use a regular s5 dash bezel as long as I have the jdm switches? Just looking for some insight potentially from people who have more experience for the future of this car.

The short answer is that the entire interior is approximately a mirror image with a few exceptions such as the ignition switch being on the right-hand side of the steering column like a North American car. I hate to be "that guy", but unless you're VERY talented with Japanese linguistics, it's going to end badly. Not exactly a good way to learn either, unobtanium parts tend to get expensive if one can find them at all...

As for part numbers, S5 Japanese parts begin with F061 through F070, compared to North American ones using the FC01 and above prefixes. Beyond that, knowing how each one works is necessary too, and I haven't written anything on them yet as I'm currently knee-deep in Japanese FD ABS wiring (3 different systems were used)

If you'd like to try you hand at it, I have the Model Chart still in Japanese. It shows differences relative to other Japanese FC RX-7 models.

I'll give it a shot. If need be things can be completely replaced or converted. Didn't know if mechanical pieces were designed differently and moved to the other side of the engine like on other imports. Things like that. Which parts should I always be on the lookout for?

Generally speaking, the drivetrain "package" was made so it can be dropped in either LHD or RHD with little fuss. Harnesses are another story though, and would require a LOT more time to go into detail about the differences between North American and Japanese ones. That would best be served by looking at both wiring diagram books side by side. One thing that comes to mind is that the driver's door harness is always DR1, passenger is DR2, regardless of region.

its really interesting what changes with RHD vs LHD, its not always what one would think. some things, like the clock bezel, and the engine, are the same. some things are obviously different, like the steering rack and subframe to mount it
and then some stuff is different for no discernable reason, like the sunvisor holder clips, or the brake booster piping.

the interior gets really fun because its in forced perspective to look square from the drivers seat, but that means things like the glovebox door are different even though it looks like a rectangle

So overall most wear and tear items are gonna be the same as an American s5? Just trying to figure out what all major. Hangers there are, if any, so I can have notes for later. If I have to end up doing major wiring I'll just do an aftermarket ecu and get new harnesses made more than likely. Jusy be done with it entirely. Just trying to learn the car lol
