After 7 years I’ve returned to the Rx7 family. I had 91 NA that I did a complete turbo II swap on. It became too much to have as I didn’t have the time or space for it so i sold it back in 2012.
Today I picked up an 88 GTU. It’s in really good condition just needs a rebuild. This will become a dedicated track car. First thing I need to decide is if I’m going to rebuild the 13b and do a Bridgeport or rip it out and do an LS.
The GTU is the epitome of the NA FC family. Its the absolute best NA car you can buy. Rebuild the 13B or replace it with another. The GTU trim is not extremely common and it would be a shame to put an LS in it. That car is gorgeous and you are lucky to have it.
Sweet! I need those little wheel spats in front of the REAR wheels. And also the diff from your car is desirable! Would make a great track car with a PP 13b in it... Just saying

just to clarify, this is an 88 GTU not the S5 GTUs which they only made 1100 of and came with the LSD
Also, just for my own curiosity, and nothings
going to hurt my feelings or make me regret my choices. At $2k do you think this was a good deal?
Before buying I tried to do some searching and price comparisons and wasn’t finding many similar cars for
comparison.
Good price, looks clean. Perform some maintenance such as fluid changes (ALL FLUIDS) on it and enjoy it for a few thousand miles before spending money on modifications.
