i love the translation for the exhaust manifold, Octopus Foot. There isn't a picture of this Octopus foot specifically, but he seems to use a mid length header, its longer thant the 32" RB and shorter than the 90" competition stuff.
does it also look like he's using sealing rings instead of a gasket? it ends in the dolphin style muffler, and its a dual

almost makes it sound like you can use a Rx-7 tail housing on the Rx-8 gearbox. But who knows the google translate of the linked page is horrible and they keep saying a 5 speed Rx-8 which I didn't know existed. Maybe in Japan.

"By the way, the RX-8 5-speed mission cannot be ported to the RX-7 in each case. This is because the bell housing and rear case are different, and there is no driven gear to pick up the vehicle speed. In other words, this transplant is a genuine diversion tune that disassembles the mission of FD3S and incorporates the gear of RX-8 inside (the strength is not reduced because the gear is common"
So in the case of that link, this is actually a gearing swap of sorts while still using the FD box.
I plan on running an S2 box due to strength, but haven't found any concrete options for shifter location besides redesigning engine mounts or cutting the interior up.
I did send Xcessive Manufacturing an email about the likelihood of making a shifter relocation kit for Rx8 six speed swaps, as they already make relocation kits for JZ swaps and others. Since they're local, I figured I could provide parts and be a test mule. Not to thread jack, but maybe everyone interested in a true drop in relocation kit, should also send them an email

we can define strong. the physical strength of the box and how strong the synchros are. the S1 box can handle plenty of torque, however in a race car the synchros (actually i think the hubs) wear really quickly. on the street they actually seem to do just fine.
the S2 box can handle a similar amount of torque, but it has better shifting bits, sort of. they have problems with the linkage being crappy, and the early ones had bad 3rd gear forks.
so net net the S1 box has a bad reputation (like the car it came in), but if you dig further its exaggerated

Suspension! i wonder how they choose the colors, it seems totally random, yet i think it works... also on the race cars they usually do some reinforcing of things, but it doesn't look like they did for this car?

I guess they figured they'd have some fun with the paint colors, since this stuff was going under the car.
Makes sense they've kept the reinforcement off for now, as they do plenty of that on the other cars.
It's only a matter of time until they mess with the stock-looking rear lights.

and then there is a super-street article. Article says they made the CF interior bits, but it seems like they wrapped it?
