Google translate isn't great but that seems pretty good. Only problem is we didn't get 5 speed rx8 in Australia.

Or the U.S. though it almost sounded like the where swapping the RX8 internals. Google translate's English was pretty bad.

The center section is basically the same. The RX8 transmission has a different bellhousing that uses a push type clutch assembly. The tail shaft housing is a different length. If you swap the RX8 bellhousing and center section onto the RX7 tail housing you could use an FC or RX8 pushtype clutch on a 7... or use the 7 bell and tail housing with the 8 center section..

the shift rods too since the shifter position is about 3” difference between them

in this case though if I read it correctly, they just rebuilt the FD3 box using replacement parts from the RX8/SE3P to take advantage of the triple-cynchro upgrades. I believe that was the basic intention of the article. I suppose you can try to get an imported box and swap internals, but getting pictures of what you’re buying from most of these companies (they use stock generic photos stating not actual and they won’t send actual pics until after you pay/commit to buying it) is tough in itself, let alone an accurate state of condition.

RX8 (R15M-D) transmission service manual changes; in addition to the triple-cone synchros there’s also a cam lockout to prevent shifting into reverse from 5th
