Please help Fuel Problem

So i recently was working on my working 88 T2. I accidentally punctured a fuel line. When i went to go start the car (not nnowing i punctured the line) the car spit out sone fuel. Ok well to easy. I went and bought a new line and replaced it. Problem solved right? Wrong. When the line spit out fuel the gas pedal hit the floor and is loose as hell. Now that the line is fixed the gas pedal is still loose and the car wont start. This might be a dumb question but does anyone have a clue where i should start or has anyone had this happen to them.

Did you forget to hook up the throttle cable to the throttle body when you put it back together?

No need to touch the throttle body when working on fuel lines.
