Need help please with greddy intercooler:-( please please please...
so I'm Not a complete amateur, but I'm having the hardest time installing this kit. Need help bad. I just bought the 32 r kit from greddy, but it doesn't fit like I thought it would. First, how do I get it around the brake cylinder? The only way it fits is raising the pipe over it, which to me doesn't look good. Second, do I have to cut the bumper cover and remove the bumper? I'm guessing I have to drill a new hole for the sensor in the elbow? Is this right? Also, the vacum hose that connected to the stock mount where does it go now? I would appreciate all the help I could get. Don't have too much time to work on the car so I'm trying to get as much done on my day off.
i got the greddy replica (godspeed/xo2Racing). Had to do a little grinding on the tube that attaches to the elbow to get everything settled, So you might have to do the same. It barely clears the brake fluid reservoir if you have power steering.
Thanks, the problem is the power steering hoses that are at the bottom of your pic. Its to close and I also have a AC hose that's towards the firewall. Btw, your engine bay looks really good. Is that a racing beat dual pulley? Mazdatrix?
I don not envy you guys with power steering and A/C.... best "mod" ever was removing the luxuries, its a race car after all, right? Sorry to post a B.S response.
If you notice this guy's pics the bumper is removed during install. It really helps doing this to get some room to maneuver, cut where need be and push/pull where need be as well. With the A/C and Power steering functional, it's going to be a very very very tight fit, period.

If the Power steering hoses are your main issue, I would loosen the too fittings that go into the top of the pump, and then just rotate the hard line section counter-clockwise to free up that extra bit of room. The rubber section of the hoses are pretty pliable and can just be pushed further if needed.
One thing that I did afterwords, was relocate the power steering pump to where the A/c compressor was. You gotta hack up your mounting bracket to make it work, But it effectively puts you p/s pump out of the way. There's a writeup in the second gen section about it. Search "power steering relocation". Of course you have to be willing to sacrifice a/c.
And get yourself an engine torque damper if you dont have solid motor mounts... So that the piping and other surfaces dont start rubbing against each other too much when you're driving.
