New member, seeking minor help
I have an 89 gtu, streetported by pineapple racing that i just got. To my understanding a streetport is supposed to bring the idle up correct? My car idles at around 7-800. Sometimes even on cold starts, but it reaches operating temps in around 5 min or less. Any way to fix this? Have some other issues as well. But i figure id check them out myself before asking here. Thanks in advance!

As long as you have the ability to tune (PFC etc), there is no reason that an aggressive streetport will not pull 14-15 vacuum and idle at a smooth 800-850 rpm. If your car wont maintain an idle lower than 1100 rpm there is something wrong with the tune/engine, it does not matter how large the streetport is. However if it is bridgeported it will pull weak vacuum and need to have the idle bumped up to keep it from stalling.
Our 13b-re has a huge streetport, pulls 15 vacuum and idles at a glossy 800rpm
We would never let any customer's car out of our shop with a 1100 rpm idle on a SP engine

I used Pineapple racing templates when I ported my engine( though not sure it matters who's template in relation to the question) and I have my car's idle set at 800. This is on the stock ecu as well.
