This is getting frustrating.

my fc was running fine. Now it won't start. I had to jump it whenever i wanted to start it (eventually the jumper cables started smoking) when I got a battery for it. I've basically replaced the entire fuel system.
  1. new fuel filter
  2. New fuel pump
  3. New fuel regulator
  4. New fuel pressure damper
  5. Some new fuel lines
  6. Rebuilt the injectors
  7. New "main" fuse
  8. New battery cables
  9. new spark plugs
  10. New TPS
  11. New starter
where do I go from here? It won't start.

Did you get a DMM yet? Smoking cables, white smoke coming out the tail pipe and a clutch problem. You've got your hands full!

Are the coils firing? Can you hear the fuel pump working? How is your compression? Is the motor struggling to crank? With the clutch issue, I wonder if something it stuck. Can you turn the motor over by hand?

Make sure you download the FSM. It's helped me a lot.

Can you take a video? Sometimes a simple video and hearing it goes a long way.

hello, I got new jumper cables and now they are not smoking. I have a light tester. You know the one where you pit it on the electrical connection and it lights up to tell you it has power. As for the coils, it was running fine before. I dont see a reason why they wouldn't be firing. Is there a way I can test the coils?

now to answer your other questions. The fuel pump works. I believe it has compression. The only reason why the engine cranks slow is because after a little bit the starter cranks it slow. About the clutch, I'm gonna replace the master cylinder and see if that's the problem. Thank you!

I'm still quite a novice when it comes to rotaries but here is what I've learned in my research to get my FC motor running better (though it still has hard cold start issues).

You need good compression in both roters on all facings.

A working ignition system including coils,v wires and spark plugs that fire and correct timing.

Correct fuel pressure and clean working injectors.

A strong battery, good cables and a starter that cranks fast enough. If it cranks too slow, it won't catch.

All of the emission, fuel and water temp sensors need to have clean connections and function properly. This is where a DMM is required along with the FSM. The important ones are the AFM, water thermo sensor and TPS.

No vacuum leaks. Mine had several causing idle surging issues. Now it idles smooth.

from what I know here's what I'm pretty sure is alright in my fc.
  1. Compression
  2. Ignition system
  3. Timing is ok
  4. Fuel system is ok
The fact that it was running completely fine before this makes me believe it is nothing major and that all the things I've listed are not the problem, though I'm new to rotaries so I could be wrong.

I'll check those electrical connections that you listed and keep you updated. Thanks!!

I dont know how to post a video. The starter is new but it sounds like it's weak. The connections are on the starter correctly. Idk

I dont understand how it doesnt have good compression. It was running completely fine. If it was a blown apex seal we would know it.

weird. When I tried to start it today, it started once but immediately shut off. After that it just cranked and jumped liked it wanted to start.

I did not see igniters in the list of new parts. Have you determined they are good? Poor grounds could be the reason for the slow cranking.
Follow the manual.
