Fc Rx7 rear noise
Fc Rx7 rear noise
Hi. Recently i bought an fc rx7 with bad diff mounts. It was clunking really hard in acceleration and deceleration. So i dropped the diff and replaced the front diff mount and the two top ones (all solid) and im still hearing the same noise after putting everything back in. I double checked everything and it was all tight, i checked the diveshaft, axles, and even opened the diff. It was all perfect but the noise is still present. What else should i check?
While a few things could be the cause, it would be best to identify the exact location for the clunk. Also not sure what you mean by solid front diff mount - Parts by Max welded mount?
1) subframe bushings could be bad also, but don't typically clunk unless accompanied by
2) vertical link bushings shot? Presuming you've got a stock fixed-length link with rubber end bushings.

I checked every bushing. And when i replaced the mounts i took off the entire subframe apart. Every bushing was good. And yes the parts shop max solid forward diff mount. I was thinking it might be the gas tank or the exhaust but its all tight
Worn sway bar bushings will cause a clunk or a rattle over bumps or dips in the road. Clunking can also be caused by worn rear shocks, a broken spring or a bad shock bushing at the top or on the bottom. Check to make sure your exhaust hangers are all in place and not stretched or deteriorating. A worn hanger can cause the exhaust to make contact with the body, causing a rattle. Also, make sure your spare tire is properly secured in the hatch. A loose spare tire, jack or jack handle will cause a rattle.
