Carburetor Conversion 6 port

Today I picked up a 13b series 4 that has been converted to carburetor (6 portintake manifold). upon assembly I found that there are some hooks on my air intake manifold that link onto the air induction tubes but there is no mechanism or linkage to control the tubes from outside the air intake manifold.

are the induction tubes not used on carburetor conversions?
if not used should they be open or closed all the time?
if something controls them in a 6 port carburetor conversion then what is it?

Im guessing youre talking about the 6 port induction sleeves, typically no they are not used. You have a picture of the setup, so we have more of an idea what is going on with your car?

still unsure aswell. ive heard they have a similar effect to vtec
so leaving them open would require more fuel but it would get more air and power. still never got an answer though
