After giving up my 88 vert in February (engine problem) I discovered I still have the boot cover (what covers the top when it's down). I'd like to know if this can fit other cars than mine, or was each one custom fit to the specific car it came with. The reason I ask is I see replacements advertised with the fasteners not installed and I suspect the fastener location may not be tightly controlled during manufacture. Anyone know? If it would fit other cars, just another 88, or other years too?

 

I am pretty sure it only fits 88 to 91 rx-7 and only rx7s. The reason they come new without snaps is because Mazda hand fited these tops after production. Therefore there could be a slight differance. Even the replacement top comes without the holes for bolting to the deck.

 

Hey, thanks for confirming my suspicion. I was hoping someone could use it but it sounds unlikely.
