Ive seen that car pop up from time to time over the last year or so. I guess he wasn't able to register it in Florida. With some creativity, you can get them registered... speaking with a friend of mine, there is a way to get it titled as a custom car, but you have to change a certain percentage of the vehicle.

i.e. rebuild engine, swap tranny, custom interior, body kit.. enough to make it a custom vehicle.... you can always revert it back, but in order to title it Custom (at least in Illinois), you have to have significantly altered the vehicle.

Another option would be to find a junked 929 and swap VINs, but I don't suggest that

That is a nice Cosmo.
I willpost a pic of my car once I get some. We have just fitted a set of 19" Lenso (AXIS or LORENSO in the US) MUSE wheels, have nice twin 4" tipped SS mufflers out the back and soon a vented bonnet.

I was looking into selling my car to the US but found I wouldn't be able to get it registered there without having done somme crash testing. If you can get them in as a custom car, ours will probably be able to get in when its done.
It will be 5 speed (very shortly), rebuilt enigne, single turbo, custom front bumper/spoiler, bonnet and rear wing, FMIC and paint?? ****, You give me $25000US, and I will build you a Cosmo (custom) and send to you

My guess is you would either have to jerry rig something from another mazda, maybe even an FD... or just order one of the ones that summit sells.

Cosmo is pretty close to a 929, right? Or am I way off here? Did the 929 ever come with a manual in any country? I don't know my "other mazdas" very weel

My brothers work have just finished a 5 speed conversion on a 13B JC and just used a first Gen 7 pedal swinging from a longer pivot bar/bolt what ever you want to call it, there are about 3 or 4 manual 13B JC done here in NZ so far. I think ours will be the first 20B 5 speed.
