It's funny this thread is alive again because I just made some audio clips of #756 and posted them on nopistons.

I checked my other motor and the serial # c863 and is stamped on the front plate. The housings have been ground down and are painted black. The car is a 1990 and I couldn't check the klm's on it. I think I have to plug the ecu in?

Head,
I was wondering who that was. I mean, what are the odds of 2 people named Destin and having 20B's. Also talking in klicks instead of miles....hmmm. Oh yea, must be nice to be able to post from work. Ours, every site is blocked like its the thing to do.

So just in short the A-E engines are all the same? The initial engines that didn't have a letter in front of them where the only problem engines?

Mine is b870. I still have to remove the transmission and get it off the floor. Here is what it's going in:

I'm in the process of buying an E11. Does anyone have maps for a stock 20B they care to share?

I'll be sure to post pictures of the progress....when there is any.

here were some problems with the number only
motors these motors were almost all swapped out
for customers with a new cosmo, and most all of the
20b motors which were for sale early on were these
old swapped out motors, thus the practice of grinding
off the numbers by the people selling them.
now that the cosmo is turning up in junk yards more
and more we are starting to see more and more
letter number motors.
if you get a A001 to around A500 these are still the old
castings and are as week as the number only ones.
now there is nothing wrong with these motors if you dowel
pin them they are every bit as strong as a later motor if not stronger.
