wastegate of choice and size

what wastegate should i use?
Im pretty firm on tial since i know it works. I had one on a turbo'd acura in the past. Last kit had a T28bb w/ an internal gate on the miata.
Here's the thing... 38mm, 40mm, 46mm

what gate is the one for me? its a custom manifold for the 20b and the spring will be a .25 or .3bar (to allow my min 3.63 or 5.8 psi) so i can drive it on the street and still have traction. I need to break it in somewhere.

Ohhhh the 20b will see a max of 1 bar MAYBE one day.
***2000lb 20b miata = death at 1 bar***

driveshaft shop axles stage 3 est 7-800hp (traction will be the issue then not axles)
www.thedriveshaftshop.com or something like that.

38mm 215.oo
46mm 510.oo
prices shipped... is it really needed? i wont see more then one bar and i will have a tube mani made and not a log style so it will have its own leg for the gate. The more input, the better.
thanks...

38mm doesn't work for alot of people who have little 'ole t04e's, much less a huge turbo flowing lots of air. Some people think it's because the wastegate is too small, some people think manifold design plays a role, etc. But that aside IMO if you're building a 20B and are purchasing a very sizable turbo(which it sounds like from the other thread) then don't skimp on the wastegate.) I would try to go 46mm, 60mm HKS gate if you really have the money, or perhaps 2 tial 40mm's but don't know how easy it would be to equalize them between the runners..

it is advantageous to run a large wastegate. less boost spike and easier to control boost levels. w your car, it might even prolong your life.

BTW, it was nice talking to you this aft.
