A friend of mine was also thinking about putting a TREMEC behind his turbo charged 3-rotor, but when he saw my set up and drove my car he did a complete 180. My 20B motor puts out about 900rwhp and I’ve been using an FB street/strip overdrive trans called the 4STB. The best decision I ever made! They have a total conversion package and I was able to easily install everything myself. I think its much stronger then any stick. So far I’ve gone 9.50s at 148mph in full street trim. You guys gotta take a look at what they’ve got for Rotary engines.

I really would like to see some t56 trannys behind the 20b. A good friend of mine is making 1100whp in his supercharged viper and hasnt had one problem. there is a differnence between the vette and viper versions though. apparently the tranny is a little clunky but its also supposed to be ridiculously tough. he street races the car and is an amazing track driver as well around the neighboring states as well.

a trained driver will surely aid in saving the transmission.

I assume from the comment that you have a stock trans. How much HP/torque are you running through it? I thought I've pampered my trans but still having trouble.

im going to have to bump this again, i want information on the bellhousing and adapter plate. by reading i gathered that the t56 is stock, with the bell housing and adapter plate being bolted to it. i had this idea when i was at school and the tranny we learned on was the t56.
if someone could pm me the info on bell housing and adapter plate.

nevermind, helps when i read.
auto bell housing, auto end plate, adapter plate that will need to be drilled and tapped, and the bellhousing shaved down .30"
am i missing anything?
and, by reading, since i am going to use a 13brew, i can use my stock style clutch and flywheel, as long as its 26spline? as well as the stock clutch hydros?

My setup is an Unothrodox Flywheel with tilton clutch and disks. I had the same setup but with a different T/O bearing and disks on my stock trannys. At the time of my build there was few options on high HP clutches 5 years ago. Now there is alot of options for clutches.

Other option is a stock style flywheel , T2 pressure plate(Push style), and a correct sized 26 spline disk.
he did his way because he could, but there is this option of using the stock clutch with a 26spline clutch disk

yes you will need a auto rear iron as the manual starter want fit because of the size of the gear box.

sorry for the misunderstanding. I didnt even know there was a difference between the auto manual motors as far as there rear side housings! learn something new everyday i suppose. but it does look like i dodged the bullet on this one since 20bs obviously use an automatic side housing since all cosmos where automatics to my knowledge.
