Supercharged 20B?
Does anyone know of a car that has a supercharged 20B in it aside from the Mazdatrix race car? I'm interested in doing something like this because it seems like it could actually save some money, time and trouble in a conversion (although it would still be very expensive). If nobody has done one, what would you guys estimate a mildly ported supercharged 20B running 9psi of boost would make?

This page shows a picture of one that was used on an air boat:

vs.
$4,000 Used 20B-REW with stock turbos
-$500 Sell turbos to some sucker on Ebay
+$3,500 Supercharger setup and a LOT of work
$7,000 Total
I'm not seeing the savings here.

Ah, seems less practical now. Besides, with a supercharged and carbeurated 20B, you'd probably get about 10 miles per gallon. And I do have that video of that car blowing up. I guess I'll save up so I can get a new shortblock when my current engine goes in two or three years.

that aussie car had a whipple on it if im not mistaken. i think i have an article on it somewhere, ill see if i can find it. i remeber they were having trouble with belt slip cause of the high RPM.

I was talking about before it blew up, they were having trouble increasing the power because the blower belt was slipping, and therefore losing power. The article said they were about to go to ribbed belt to reduce slip.
