Running temps for 20b
I just traded my 2jz fd for a 3 rotor set up. i was wondering what the normal water temp should be when driving. it seems to be hot to me. it is running between 200 and 210? please advise, thanks

that sounds "ok". The stock FD 13b runs anywhere between 185F-225F. 190-205F is where I tried to keep my 2 rotor. With a 3 rotor you would anticipate higher temps as the engine is 50% larger. Too keep these temps in check you'd need at least dual oil coolers and a larger radiator (koyo n-flow etc). As long as your temps don't exceed 225F, you are probably fine. Are your fans running at 200-210?

Hot rotaries are BAD!
The engine will take a lot more abuse if you keep it cool, as there are significant thermal stresses.
You really need to check oil temps as well. I try to keep oil temps <250, and water temps <200.
If you oil temps are relatively cool, then 210 is probably ok, but if they are above ~240, then I would look into additional cooling.
Usually for rotaries people underestimate the oil cooling requirements, so the best bang for your buck is probably to upgrade oil coolers.

It being larger displacement doesn't mater. What matters is having heat exchangers that have the ability to remove heat from your specific displacement and proper duct work to receive max airflow. While cruising, turbo engines are still na. If your in a vacuum state, the engine will run at its coolest. If you have a front mount, its gonna run hotter than a v-mount.
I have a NA 20b and have finally been able to drive it around some after getting some things sorted. My cruising temps stay just at 190 degrees. My thermo switch kicks my fans on at 200 degrees. I have a scoot vented hood and a modified 2nd gen Supra 3 row aluminum radiator, and dual 25 row oil coolers with large frontal openings from my GTC front bumper. I also run the factory 20b water pump with dual thermostats. The 20b water pump has a big impeller thats designed to move lots of water. Both of my stats are 180 degree. Hope that helps.
Edit: Also I just noticed that running the engine richer than neccessary just builds up more heat. I've recently gotten my engine running near stotch during warmup and its taking longer to reach operating temp than before.
