Questions about subframe

i was wondering what ppl are doing about the subframe. The car is going to be street driven so i am interested in the bump steer. Basically, has anyone delt with Hinson's kit? Good? Bad? and wat about pettits kit? or is anyone selling or know of anyone that is selling a subframe that will work well? I know guys modify the stock subframe, however i think in my case id be better off with one already built. Any suggestions ?

Thanx for your help

In about a month I will be selling my conversion kit, which keeps the stock subframe, and therfore steering perfectly stock. I will pm you once they are ready.

In using your mounting system Im guessing you will have to cut down the lower intake manifold to clear?

Yes, but its a very small price to pay to have perfect steering just like the factory mazda intended it to be. I think my kit is the only that retains the stock tranny location, and factory placement of the steering. I will post back soon once a few kits are ready for shipping.

The Pettit subframe lowers the steering rack to clear oilpan. The motor sits lower with the pettit setup, the lower manifold stays at stock height.

Yours is not the only one to keep the stock subframe or keep the tranny in the stock location and if I remember correctly only one or two of the companies that makes a kit for the 20b move the tranny. Acosta Motorsports have been installing 20bs into 3rd gens for years using the stock subframe. I used to sell a subframe and bumpsteer correction kit that kept the tranny in the stock location.

I was meaning keeping both stock, and not moving any steering geometry at the same time.

how did you keep the transmission in the same place AND keep the stock subframe? . . . w/o having to move the rack, that is. . .

That is what AcostaMotorsports have been doing for years. They use a 13b rear iron to change the motor mount position from the side of the motor to the bottom (like the 13b) which allows the use of the stock subframe and then fabs a new oil pan to fit with the stock subframe.

So what do you do GtoRx7?
