Cool Polished 20b LIM

I took my grinder and replaced a grindstone with a brass wire wheel today.

Before polishing, this looked much worse than it does now.

Kinda fun.

lol
all he's done is removed the oxidized material from the aluminium with a wire brush... yeah, good polish job bro. i am sure anyone would be able to achieve the same result with a dremel!
if you honestly think thats a good polishing job then you are ******* ignorant.

fairly certain the OP used the polish word loosely... he most likely meant 'cleaned'...
polishing requires more effort than a wire brush and the end result is far from the pic posted...

I am sure of that!!

I would have basically said, "Good job so far, now you need to do x, y and z to really get that polished look".

That's just me though...

Hey Bob!

Don't let Silvia bust your nuts, I'm sure she's just having jealousy issues.

This is a good first step when polishing.

Next is sanding off all the cast flashing & seams (use 100 grit emery cloth & a file)

Text me if you still have my number if you need any tips!

With your incredibly small contribution to the forums, you dont have much room to critique others. Especially coming from someone that didn't know 20b rotors were the same as FD rotors. Just swap an LS1 and leave our forums. Shitty newbs...

We learn as we go.

Let's drop the rag-time posts. Telling it like it is, is OK. The "polishing" job is fucked up.

JF,

Thanks for the details about what to do next and the grit, etc.

Merry Xmas!

Bob,

It's nice to see you doing something with the 20b stuff. I know a car just waiting for your 20b parts...

silvia 20b is right.

There's nothing special there. Just a guy, probably a very nice guy, who took a little bit of time to wire clean his intake.

I can't say i've learned anything from this post. Perhaps he could get a hold of all the info in the world on polishing, where to buy it, what grades of abrasives were used, and then post. Then we would all learn something!
