pettit's 20b subframe

what's the deal with pettit's 20b subframe? some people use it and like it, and some people hate it. i don't have $40k to donate to farrell's piggy bank. anyone have any success with it? some insight would be appreciated. -joe

I use Pettit's subframe and like it. I had a mechanic\fabricator do the work for me so I can't tell you the work involved but here is what I do know.

Steering - I found the steering much more responsive (twitchey) with the subframe so I had the power steering removed. Removing the power steering had two benefits...it slowed down the steering slightly and took a bit of the weight off the front end of the car. I find the steering very predictable and feel confident when the car is in a drift. I believe that the steering box had to be ground down to make everything fit.

Depending on the type of intercooler you run, you can't use Cam's strut brace. I had a custom rad made up and use greddy's new front mount. I returned the brace as there is no way it would work with the combo I had.

I removed the pump and left the power steering rack in place.
