Isn't that the truth!

Yeah, it always takes longer than expected. I just hope he isn't really getting a loan.

The HD-929 from 91-95 was the best looking 929 Mazda ever did. Seen a few 13Bt conversions over the last few years, never a 20Btt one to date.

We all know the previous HC-929 from 86-91 had a 13Bt option in Japan & the HE-929 from 96-02 was an ugly duckling. HD version gets my vote anytime...

Good luck with it if you actually go ahead

And since you don't have to worry about emmisions you should be able to run 0 split all the way around. the problem is that it also increases combustion temps, and that can cause high EGTs..

Just get the Cool Tec3 6/12 or whatever it is. .it has individual trims for each plug. and can do split via that on a 20B..

Run "Zero" timming split on BOOST, and watch Your engine "split" the steels in a hurry.
Both the Turbo II & the 3rd. gen Rx7 run a 15* degree split timming. ... PLUS boost retard, ... PLUS a knock sensor wich further retards timming under very heavy load conditions in mid range. On 3rd. gen by an extra 7* degrees.
So, why would the Cosmo be any different ?
Under mediun to heavy boost if both L & T fire simultaniouslly, or close to one another, the BMEP rise is SO VIOLENT that the engine block gives & the steels crack !
This condition is often confused with DETONATION, when it actually is a precursor to Pre-Ignition caused by excesive "instantanoius & uncontroled" combustion presure
Futal attempts at solving this problem been tryed countless times by adding "Pins" to the engine blocks, and............. the side Housing (steels) continue to crack !!! ........ ?
On the subject fo EGT's, Hi EGT is caused by retarded Trailing timing.
If You want to drop EGT like a bomb, advance the trailing timming under vacum, (trailing throtle overrun) and watch what happens !!
Just the opposite will happen if You retard the trailing timming on throtle. The more timming slipt, the higher the egt. but this SAVES engines. Higher Hp. levels have been found w/ T timming set @ 4 to 6* ATDC on higher boosted street & race engines, obviouslly EGT goes up, and so does Turbo Responce, hence the extra power ! .. Suddenlly Thermal management becomes an issue !
Another way to lower EGT's is to KEEP the EGR functional.
This will not only lower EGT's but will allmost certainly eliminate exhaust "light off" and turbo "afterburn" under deceleration.

I can't verify the FC or FD ignition timing maps, but I *KNOW* the Cosmo igntion maps go to zero split at full boost - about 8psi to 10psi.

seems like you always have something negative to say. I see you saying something bad in a bunch of threads all over the forum. Grow up...

GT1-20B...RETed. . .

any luck with those split maps from the stock cosmo? i'd really appreciate them if you could provide them. if you need a place to put them, put them on the gmail account i set up for the 20B people

usename:20bmanual
passwd:rotarypower

any other useful info for the 20b can be put there as well. anyone feel free to use it. just go to gmail.com, sign in, compose the email in the account, to the account. over 1GB of space, so room for plenty of info

thanks guys
