Just finished our 3 rotor project.

Here are a few pics of a 3 rotor we just finished up. No tuning in boost as of yet. Customer is breaking in the motor and will be back in a few weeks to for a full tune. One thing I love about the car is the sound. It has a custom 4 inch exhaust all the way back and just purrrrs when cruising. Its going to sound like an Indy car under WOT.

So that is my car. I appreciate the job that Jason, Zavier and Jacob did on the car. It was a pretty major job and the RX-7 store lived up to their end of the deal. Like Jason said, the sound is incredible..infact I went out tonight and started it just to hear it run. I drove it 2 hrs home from Columbus on Tuesday and trying to get the miles on as soon as possible. I can't wait to hear it at WOT. Thanks again to the RX-7 Store....I'm a happy customer!

Looks awesome. Only I wonder about the turbo clocking that lead to a 90 degree bend in the intercooler piping. Probably some horsepower right there, though im sure it spins the tires quite easily.

To answer some of the questions.

Its not a cheap upgrade Customer had about $13k in parts alone, plus when we got the motor it was in bad shape and had to be ported and rebuilt. We also pinned it.

The ECU is a Microtech which is easy tune.

We used the subframe from RX-7 Specialties in Canada. Its a nice frame which keeps you from modifying the firewall, but does not give you much room to play with up front.

We are going to modify the intercooler piping so its routed a little different. As it sits we cant the headlight back in there.

Cool, I was wondering what subframe you were using. How much was the labor cost, I'm already planning ahead for a 20B conversion for later after my 13B blows.

We charge around $5k in labor. Dropping the motor in is easy but there is a lot of custom fab work involved. Relocation of intercooler and radiator, Custom intercooler pipes, Custom exhaust system, Wiring the Microtech, Battery relocation, custom fuel system, tuning etc...
It all adds up and in the end we probabaly had more labor in it than we charged.

^ WOW 5k in labor is a great deal when done by a shop with a great reputation. That's actually 5k cheaper than what Pettit charges.

Jason

Hows the bump steer issue with this subframe? Seen a few different people selling subframes for the FD 20b, just no reviews on how well they are or fit..
