Did you guys do all the polishing as well? 5k is a hell of a deal for all that work.
Motor looks beautiful. Which turbo did you guys go with? Who made the manifold?

Really makes me want to keep my car and go polish everything.

I'm using '99+ spec fans w/o issues. I tried Flex-a-lite slim line fans previously and it ran warmer but never overheated.

You need to duct and seal that radiator in order to help that situation.

Here is a pic of something i rigged up in my garage.
https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/my-radiator-fmic-ducting-mini-project-651168/
Be kind. It was my first time every working with metal and all I have is crappy hand tools.

I also used the same thin metal sheet to create a little ducting/sealing under the radiator to seal off 2" worth of space between the bottom of the rad and the undertray. These 2 things alone helped a lot.

What also helped is I opened up the section between the lip and the bottom of the bumper so that I could get airflow under the FMIC to the radiator. I just got longer bolts and cut up some 3/8" rubber hose to use as spacers. CCarlissi had some pics and temp comparisons either here or on nopistons.

Max Cooper had a thread from his R85 single turbo install where he had a real fabricator do serious ducting/sealing. Might want to search for that.

Overall the fans can only move whatever air is fed to it. W/o any ducting, all you are doing is recycling the very hot air in the engine bay.

Jason, do you have any updates on the car?

Also, how did you use a greddy elbow on the car? Did you make a flange/adaptor for the elbow or did you use a 13b throttle body?

What intercooler did you guys use? Greddy 3-row or custom?

Thanks in advance

Jackson

I am also impressed that you didn't have to utilize a custom T-stat housing.

Nice build!

The car is here now getting some intercooler piping work done. We are rerouting it so the stock headlights will work. Should be done in about a week and then tune it.

As I recall we used an FD throttle body which let us use the Greddy elbow. The intercooler is a Greddy 2 row and we fabricated the piping.

This may seem a dumb question but is it not possible to mount the radiator in the stock location or better yet as a v mount like KS setup? Does the front of the 20b extend too far? Beautiful car

Jason,

Is the cross member lost in your conversion? Or relocated? The piece that you guys removed just above the steering rack and where the A/C compressor is laying. I ask because I am really wanting to do a v mount with corresponding radiator. If the 20b doesn't disturb this crossmember then I can do my KS v mount with the 20b

Yes, the crossmember is gone. In fact, I will have to cut off the bracket on the AC side when I mount the compressor.

Nice job Jason. With the subframe you used, how did or does it effect the bump stops/steering problem I've heard you have unless you move the firewall?
TIA,
Ernie

Finally got the car on the dyno. 10 lbs of boost was 468 RWHP and 15 lbs was 557 RWHP. Gotta love the 20b
I need to run it up to 8k because it will make more power.

Very nice. Did something happen to the boost at the end of the run? Seems to be dropping off. Also, do you have a plot of the A/F ratios for the run?
