I happen to be at the shop when the guys were working on the manifold. They built an equal length manifold for the GT55-91 (huge turbo capable of 1500hp). Here's the pictures I took .

 

I will be following this thread with great interest. This thread = Subscribed by me. I have been wanting to do the same build. Now that you guys are taking the path before I am, it will hopefully a little easier for me. Nevertheless, I have many questions.


1. What are your goals for the project(i.e. how much whp and wtq at x amount of boost)?

2. You expect full boost by what rpm?

3. What seals are you guys using?

4. Are you going to be running the stock 20b LIM/UIM?

5. What transmission/rear end/the whole drivetrain are you going to be using?

6. What engine management?

7. what wastegate?

I understands entirely, I am the secretive type as well. I actually thought they wouldn't release any info on the car, seeings how the OP isn't the owner of the car or work at Gotham. Just in the right spot at the right time.


As far as somebody saying "baby ****" about the turbo being a 20lbs or less, two comments. ONE. At 20 lbs, the car should make 900 whp on just about any porting/set-up. TWO, even at 20lbs, the turbo is probably not in its eff. range.

I can answer some of the questions, the owner doesnt want to release to much information till the car is done and dynoed. The car is getting get a custom made lower intake and upper intake manifold with a wilson 104mm throttle body. I will post pictures of the intake manifold when it's done this weekend.

The manifold was fitted with a HKS gt2 60mm wastegate, you can see the guys at Gotham cleaning the manifold yesterday.

The car belongs to Alex Haralam, one of the owners of Gotham. He's always had a very clean FD, tastefully modded with all the best parts. He's just tripling the amount rwhp most of us want to make

 

He need a clean, tastefully modded tube framed car with that much power

1500. My god. Just out of curiosity, I know Turbotommy has trouble getting his 800 to the ground, this is just going to be silly.

 

At the minimum...a Mini-tub and Viper like rear tires will be needed and that may not even be enough to handle that much hp

 

Not sure on the tranny, I'll find out.
