FD 20B v-mount set up

Just talked to the shop that is doing the insurance claim on my car. I haven't talked to them in a few weeks.

We had discussed the possibilty of doing a v-mount setup, apparently they went ahead and did it!

I'm not concerned just a little taken back, I built this car from the ground up and now they have put in a full v-mont setup with having any input from me.

Am going to the shop tommorow to take a look, will take some pics and post them.
The new frontend is from Origin and has huge openings.

Also, they are going to make my scoot hood fit, currently the uim sits to high to allow the hood to fit, should look awsome.

Has anyone else put a v-mount setup in their 20B?

v mounts seem impractical and the only way to dump the heat out from the bottom heat exchanger is under the car. I dont know bout you but lift to me is very bad. I think that scoot hood rocks though.

The setup looks awsome, they are just doing the finishing touches. The few pics I took are too big to post and I dont have photo shop to make them smaller.

The IC core size is 16 x 24.75 x 3
The radiator core is 17 x 23.5 x 3

These are just core sizes, does not include end tanks. If anyone is willing to reduce the pics size I can email you the few I have.

Will take some better pics this week, with everything complete.

As for the v -mount being impractical, not imo. Both radiator and ic will recieve huge amounts of air and the scoot hood will help remove the air as it passes through the ic.

We abandoned my V-mount for now in favor of a CO2 induced front mount larger then the Greddy front mount. This I/C allows CO2 to be pumped through it and then goes into the atmosphere...S-Max claims to cool intake temps up to 60%. I want to test this myself and if it does not work go back to the greddy. It just is really tough to fit a V mount in there I would love to see pics of yours. ^^

Where do you think the hot air is normally exiting?

You could always fabricate a pan and make a channel to duct the air out the side of the car instead of the bottom, but I have a feeling that there's going to be air going underneath the car anyway, so why bother?

That's exactly my point. If you've got a stock undertray and a stock-mount radiator, and a large IC, where's most of that air going? Between the core support and the undertray, and ultimately down under the car. No matter what, unless you've got a vented hood, the air WILL have to escape under the car. No two ways around it.

If this setup allows the use ofthe stock undertray, I wouldn't worry about it.

Yeah, if anything, a v-mount with a vented hood would be better, since SOME of the incoming air could be vented through the hood.

Just IMO, but I think I would rather have a little lift that I can feel and slow down accordingly than not get enough cold air through my radiator and overheating my engine. Not that it would absolutely do either one, but weighing the circumstances, I would choose a V-mount set up.

mspaint can resize them, start>run>mspaint.exe, load your picture and hit control+W. Or if you don't want to upload them to the forum, upload them http://imageshack.us

I really want to see how the v-mount setup fits.

no it doesn't.

if they used an EWP, i doubt that they would have retained the waterpump housing and spent the time rigging a non-functional pulley.

it's just a fill cap/tstat housing that can be used more easily with the 20B. . .go to A-Spec's sub-forum, they sell a product very much like that. nice piece.

Dude ...where the hell have you been , whats up with the conversion , are you done yet ?

No i dont think its an electric pump if you look real good you can see the greddy pullet , its just the AST that`s right front of it

BTW thats the Greddy Super 7 , its a collaboration between Greddy and RE amemiya , i have mixed feelings about the body though
V-mount looks awesome though
