fc swaybar options?

Anybody know if any of the commonly available swaybars leave room for the 20b oilpan? I see racingbeat ones for sale all the time for example, will that work with the 20b?

just hoping i can get a mass produced job and save myself having to pay for a custom one.

thanks
pat

We had a shop on OR make the bar custom for about $500 each.

well i could make one out of cromoly, but im not sure how heating and bending it would affect the spring rate...im afraid it would leave a soft spot. i dunno of anyone around that has a furnace big enough to heat treat the whole thing, so once i did it i'd be stuck with it. course it would cost me a tenth of what a real one would....

Instead of touching the swaybar, we moved the end link directly forward about 2" and welded a new tab to the swingarm. That way you can still run any aftermarket or stock swaybar and it still maintains near OEM geometry/alignment. Works very well

how did you leave the swaybar in place? the endlinks arent the problem. The oil pan hitting the swaybar is the prob?

I'd like to see pics?
The problem with this type of relocation is that the extensions are not strong, and you end up with flex.
Flex with a stabilizer bar is bad.

Mitch Piper at Piper Motorsports in Chantilly, VA (near Dulles Airport) made mine when he worked at PFS. The quality of his work is beyond reproach.

No the endlinks are not the problem but it rotates the bar forward in the same position thus avoiding the oil pan and it sits directly in front of it at the same plane.

I disagree about the strength as the boss we fabricated and welded on the brace is of much greater substance than the stock connecting point. That's why we made it beefier to maintain the same (or less?) flex as stock.

I'll email pics to individuals if you want them as I'm not in the habit of publishing pictures to the public of things I spent money on.

Ah! I see. You just rotated it forward. Right on. Did it affect the spring rate at all? I have the cosmo sway bar, I read somewhere it could be made to work. I havent really looked into it as I'm not at that point yet.
