Factory ECU with 20B

with an experienced wiring tech. is it possible to run a 5 speed with the original ECU? At least until I get a stand alone . If I'm not wrong it's mostly a bypass. Also could I get some pinouts for the ECU please.

It "worked" for me. Ran rich, did not like decelerating, but it ran. Just made me more impatient to get a Microtech.

my friend did it on the 20b2600. he just left the trans stuff plugged in. what the ecu doesnt know, won't hurt you in this case.

i will warn you though, if you do not have a running front clip, wiring up the stock ecu, is a great way to waste time. the dash harness takes forever to make if you do not have it.

wiring diagrams are around, but they are in japanese, and they are not proof read very well

The 20B ECU uses the same plugs as the FD and the pin outs are very similar. Obviously there are 2 more injector wires and more ignition outs. The injector wires are easy to spot they are red and in the #4 connector, four are in the same locations as the FD. You would need to wire in the 20B coils (which would be a little tricky). It can be done but it is a lot of work, that will have to be redone when you select an EMS. You are better off just waiting and doing it correctly the first time. We meshed the 20B harness and the FD harness together, to keep all the dash, fan, trans, etc functioning like factory, then made an adapter for the LT16 to be able to plug-n-play on our car. So right now we could plug in the factory 20B ECU, but it would just throw error codes and go into limp mode as the OMP is gone.
