early speculations

A friend and myself are speculation a 20b swap into an fc, the engine is to be kept stock for now. What I need to know is what parts are needed for the swap. And also what fabricating needs to be done. we are only planning on making just over stock power through a 3" exhaust and boost controller and maybe a haltech. Thank you in advance.

A short list to get you started: Motor mounts, downpipe, exhaust, bigger radiator and fan, ECU.

What parts will be broken or need to be replaced? If you're not after alot of power you shorten your list quite a bit.

Post it when it gets back up. I think I forgot to bookmark it.

I was told by quite a few people that an FC doesn't need a subframe to mount a 20b. Just motor mounts and possibly a oil pan. I don't know if bump steer was addressed though.

Ummmm, no. You are thinking for an FD...not a FC.

Motor mounts, downpipe, exhaust, radiator/fans...also intercooler plumbing and intercooler. You better have a turbo FC or you will be breaking transmission parts right off the bat with an NA.

If you want just over the stock hp output of a 20b (280) just stay with a 13b. How much are you looking it? 300-350? A 13b can spit that out without any problems and you'll save a ton of cash.

the 13B will be missing the 50% more torq that the 20B will have... It's an insane diffrence in how the car will drive and what it will do...

I don't want a 300-350hp 13b because thats almost double stock power. We all know what double the hp does to 13b's, KABOOM! All I want is a fairly reliable 12 second weekend driver that is original. The funds are looking good so this project will most likely go under way. Thanks again Ted and others.
