dont make too much fun of me. . .

alright, im no tard. . . i know what a 20b is. . . i know the basis of what it takes to put one in an fd and so on. . . (there, thats my disclaimer)

im about to buy a 74 rx2. . . i was hoping to make it a 20b project. . . which would be fun, but i just dont know how anybody could cram one in there. i know ive read about the aussies doing this sort of thing, but i just cant seem to find anything that shows good pictures. . . like shift lever placement. . . engine placement. . . mounting. . . yada, yada, yada.

to be honest, i just dont know how on earth they do it. . . i mean. . . its bound to be crammed in there!!!

anyways, any help would be very appreciated. pictures especially. . .

thanks,
paul

If you go with a TurboII transmission you can move it up 4 inches https://www.rx7club.com/old-school-other-rotary-63/t2-trany-rx3-479612/ Besides that the TurboII transmissions are way cheaper than the FD transmission and the FD transmission are not stonger than the TurboII's they are the same. And I like the push type clutch of the TurboII instead of the pull type like the FD.

I put a 20B in a GLC. It's really crammed in there. The GLC shares a few engine bay features witht he RX-3, so it wasn't all that bad, really. It's my understanding the RX-2 has an even smaller engine bay. Then again, the GLC bay is also smaller than an RX-3, so anything is possible with enough money, time, and a rotor brain.

thanks to this thread. . . ive found some GREAT information. the transmission thing itself is amazing, and is exactly what the 20b-fd conversions have been missing for a long time.
