Anyone run a "stock" 20b w/ single setup

In all my reading, it seems like everyone builds the 20b. Anyone that runs a stock 20b with a single setup. Afer getting all the parts i'll need, i am going to be left with a bone stock 20b. I just want to see what power is being made on a stock 20b with a decent size turbo.

Even after reading "David Hayes" 20b thread (j/k Dave) I am still going to pursue this long time desire of mine.

Thanks guys, i am trying to cover as much ground as i can before beginning. I have found some good reading on here.

Also, Anywhere else i may look for info on rebuilding a 3-rotor, using 13b-rew housings. I am sure i have missed something on this process.

Please don't just refer me to the FAQ, most of the links don't work, the rest i have read and this info isn't there.

stevenoz rebuilt mine....he is located in asheville. he has built over 40 for me and does so cheaper than any shop. you can use FD housings or 20B housings. they will just be stamped differently.

Hey Thanks, is Asheville out by Uwharrie National Forest? (That's where i go wheelin')

Going by what you are saying, the 13b-rew housing is a direct replacement for the 20b. If i get the brass to rebuild it myself, I wanted to know what would have to be done to use those housings. Thanks man.

Chito ran his 20B with a T-64 turbo, which I think is a bit small, even for the stock ports. Here is a dyno graph where you can compare it to a well-tuned stock-port 20B with stock non-sequential turbos. I don't know the details of Car 37.

When I was discussing my 20B conversion with Peter Farrell, he said that a mild porting job is necessary to get the full benefit of the single turbo.

A few years later, I was in a conversation with the guy who builds the motors for Kudzu Racing. Most of the time, they use N/A motors. However, he said that they had done one with a turbo. He mentioned that it was "lightly ported, less than a street port."

Neither of the men explained why the porting is necessary, but when two such experienced people agree, I'm not inclined to argue.

I can see your point there. PFS did all the work on my 2nd FD, i take his word strongly.

I guess i have waited this long, a little longer to tear it down and have the ports "massaged" won't kill me.

Thanks guys, I guess there was a reason i couldn't find more of those setups.

Evil Aviator: Thanks a bunch!! I see where his power dropped off, something a little bigger would be ideal!

I used to run stock guts, made 412@14psi, on a marginal tune, with a 61mm turbo (too small, tapered off to 9psi at higher rpms)

The exhaust ports are the biggest bottleneck, if you just switch to 13b ports if helps a great deal.
