I think the question is better suited as: what is the maximum amount of PSI that a 20B can handle? and what supportive mods go along with that? Then pick your turbo accordingly.

Actually it would probably come down to the space you have in your engine bay. If this is going in a 7 of any gen, space in the bay would probably be the limiting factor. Unless you're planning on doing a whole lot of modification to the front end.

you have a ways to go before you think of doing a single on it. but if you're there in the next year, remember the 20b is longer, not wider...

Instead of asking what size turbo, how about you give us an idea of your hp goals?

much bigger

we're doing a 2 rotor with a GT42R

if we had 3 rotor, we would do GT47R

T88 is big, but by no means the biggest

$15000 for the turbo or $15000 for the swap, you won't complete your swap with $15000, especially if you are doing a single turbo. Steve Kan is putting a Garrett T88 on is car which is MUCH bigger than a Greddy T88, I've got a Garrett T76 which is also bigger than a Greddy T88. My T76 is good for 600rwhp on a 20b.

i second the $15k deal. parts alone are gonna cost more than that. if you search the 20b section, you'll find price breakdowns. an fd swap is more $$ than an fc swap too btw. you can go pretty much as big as you want turbo wise, but why? you'll have more hp than you can shake you're ***** at. unless you're dragging, high hp is unneccesary, and almost impossible to put the power to the ground if its a street car.
list your goals and we can be more helpful. we're just guessing here....

Question: do you already have an fd, or is the one you're looking for (bottom of first post on this thread) going to be your first?
just wondering

true, but the greddy T88H-34D is good for over 800 on a SP'ed 20B...the "rule of thumb" in japan is T88, 13b rotor housings, good tuning and 1 bar of boost on a 20B is 600PS...

i think if your trying to find a turbo for your 20b you should treat it like a 3.9liter (or 3.7-3.9)
i have a gt42 53 trim for mine
t76 turbonetics seems to be good for 800hp (20-22psi)
t72 seems to max at 650 (15-18psi)
t88 is greddy's spec and seems to be around a t76..netics
now money....
t76 is about 1200-1400
gt42 (non-bb) 900-1100
t88..no idea of the cost
this numbers depend on trims and the hp numbers depend on porting and tuning and such...

I've been seen some used 13B motor with 1.32a/r hot side. What about 20B motor run with xxx a/r hor side? Is there higher than 1.32a/r something like 1.52a/r?

628.8 @ 6100 RPM; cut off 1400 RPM's early. This was at 13.6 PSI.

More like 18-19 PSI. The turbo really starts loosing the efficency at those ranges, and it takes much more PSI to gain more hp.

my question is... if you wanted to put bigger turbos on the 20b... whats the biggest that you could go to get all 3 with semi small singles? Is that even possible, cuz ive seen twin single set ups, but never triple single set ups...

If you can stomach the cost, triple GT2835's would easily produce 1000hp+...
