any input on my engine mount ?

what do you guys think of this?

I just got done welding it a little while ago. Nevermind the welds as all I have is a flux core welder.

It seems stupid strong, the only thing I am considering is welding a trapezoidal plate on the back side of the mount to ensure its strength under compressive loads.

I just don't know that I really need that extra strength/ weight /material.

Aesthetics aside, it will work fine with the added the plate you described.

ok, I welded another plate onto the back and cleaned up the welds and then made the other side. Then I sandblasted them and powdercoated everything black. Came out pretty nice, I getting pretty confident with my fabricating skills

looks pretty good, I wouldnt have run it without the back plate tho.

Dude, buy a decent MIG, you can't go wrong spending money on quality tools. I have a lincoln sp175 plus, cost me $530 from millerweldingsupply.com, and I LOVE it. It is way easier to improve your welding skills with a good machine too. MIG is pretty easy, if you really want to be a fabricator youre going to have to learn to TIG, which is quite a bit harder, and TIG welders are $$ too (I got a great deal on mine and it was still 1400 bucks)

Unfortunately, Im pretty broke (college). I am going to get the mig conversion kit shortly, I have a pro core Lincoln welder, it should do much better with gas.

That's a great price on the TIG welder by the way. I am going to start teaching myself how to weld TIG next week on the schools equipment, we'll see how that goes.

Also, I thought I saw you were running a MS on your 20b, maybe I'm wrong but if so I have a few questions for you.
