3 Rotor iron needed.

I need the 2nd iron (thick one). I discovered mine has a crack where the dowel is and is leaking oil out of it. I checked Mazdatrix, they wants $622 for it. I was hoping someone might have one, or can get one new cheaper.

Also I will be selling my stock twins downpipe and y-pipe setup. MY GT80R will be here soon. PM me if interested.

Jered

That is so cheap. They are around US$750 here in Oz.

The "CENTRE BEARING PLATE" (iron=wtf) is the most expensive plate available & according to mazda, not always available.

Good luck with it & dont throw your old CENTRE BEARING PLATE away as it will come in handy some time

I was thinking about having it welded. I am just concerned about the strength. It cracked where the dowel is.

yea the thick center one. My buddy called them up for me and thats the price he got. W/O shipping of course also, Its probably not a good idea to weld the cracked area. thats a major load bearing area, and welding might not be strong enough to hold.

Weird, I thought the later series engines were surpose to be stronger around the dowel area? Do you think that you had the right torque specs to begin with? Just trying to help figure things out so you don't have the same problem again.

I don't think it was stronger.. just bigger to accomodate larger diameter dowel pins... but dont quote me on that..

After a few days of thinking I think the crack has been there from day 1 i got the motor. I've allways had a nickel sized puddle on the drvers side, which i could never find the source. I think the crack expanded little by little over time to the point it is now. For those who remeber i had a cracked rear iron when i received the motor. I think it was damaged somewhere in removal or shipping. I bet the 2nd iron also was damaged at the same time.
I just checked the other irons for signs of cracking, and none found. I don't have a magnafluxing kit unfortunatly to be sure.

Gotta laugh. I correct the poor text & give out the correct name (CENTRE BEARING PLATE) & not two posts down you ask what is being discussed & still cant use the correct name.

Its not a "Special plate" its not "Iron" Its not a "centre housing"...............

Its called a "centre bearing plate"

Learn people...............

Having said that, I fully expect the next guy to make up his own name out of the blue & expect it to become magically real.

Sorry about that. And thanks for correcting me. I tend to rush through the forum at work.

Starting today, I will call it, "centre bearing plate". LOL!

Would it be center bearing plate for those of us not from Australia? I always use to call it the 80mm plate but now i'm learned. Everybody's on the same page though.
